Again, this is not about 2 players. This is about schools losing autonomy to choose what students they enroll. Not football players, students. Because if a judge can rule that a school has to sign a football player, that means they are also forcing the school to accept and enroll him.

Except they arent suing a particular school. They are suing the ncaa, and now sec for ability to be free to join a school

Just not at a SEC school because they don’t meet the requirements.
Uh huh. College football teams aren't full of Einsteins. Many players today wouldn't meet academic requirements, yet they play on.

I'll break it down for you. TV money > Presidents and chancellors

LSU isn't going anywhere.

Yes, exactly. They are suing hoping that a judge will be able to order a school to accept and enroll a student athlete.

Not that they are just eligible, but that every school has to admit them regardless of what their requirements and standards are.

For the 47th time, this is not about 2 football players. It is about a local judge being able to force a university to accept and enroll a student athlete against their will.

The presidents and chancellors of the SEC (except for LSU) would sacrifice any member of the conference to stop this. But of course, as it usually has been for the last year, the school that is at the center of the controversy is LSU.

They did get kicked out of their own stadium, though...

Never forget when Texas A&M made commemorative cups for winning a regular season game.

At no point in any of this has anyone in any court (other than the Missouri one) that a particular athlete must be allowed into a particular school. Or that the school has to ignore their own admissions standards. Just that fhey are eligible to apply to and join schools that will accept them

LSU appreciates you for doing that because it meant the Brian Kelly era was over!

So while I agree with the first part of your statement, the end result won’t be what you think it will be.

The SEC does not have the authority to force a member institution to ignore a court ruling in its own state. The LA AG filing a brief shows that the state of Louisiana will end the SEC if they take punitive action against its flagship institution for following a court ruling over a league rule. LA will file breach of contract and antitrust lawsuits if the other member institutions kick them out. The SEC will have to demonstrate why the member institutions kicked LSU out in court via meeting transcripts and recordings. Member schools will be open to discovery which they absolutely do not want.

The Louisiana judge didn’t do this, nor are the players asking him to. The Missouri judge, on the other hand, did do this. I must have missed your thread throwing a hissy fit about that ruling.

We will always be grateful to A&M for getting Kelly fired that night.

Now, if Kiffin plays Wtight... I think that is a huge risk by LSU because I think the SEC will ultimately prevail in court eventually. And in that event, I believe the SEC could levy penalties under the bylaws.

Except that the SEC has already gone through this with Bediako and didn't do shite. They even let bama keep their 3-2 record when he played.

Win the battle; lose the war. You would think with their self-image as a military powerhouse, they would know better.
