Can someone explain why they would do this? Should Alabama just cancel school?

This would be a great idea if it were like chicken pox and you developed a long term immunity.

At this point, studies are showing immunity may be short term (just a few weeks after infection).

Young people do stupid shite. I did my fair share of idiotic things as a young man. Throw in some alcohol and it was really crazy. What they did was stupid, but you have a false sense of mortality when you are young.

I cheated death many times. Trying to contract a virus that isn’t that harmful to young people is pretty tame, but they don’t think of who they might give it to.

Well if this is true we are pretty much fricked, right? What does it say about the effectiveness of a vaccine?

Problem is a lot of people are spreading the misinformation that it is like chicken pox with one time contraction, even though there's now evidence that suggests the antibodies wear off after a few months. Seen that lie being passed around on here a bunch. That the players are better off getting it now and other hogwash.

Well if this is true

It's not. There are no true studies showing lapsed immunity. At least not yet.

As far as the parties go, this has been a pretty common thing for a long time for diseases that didn't have a vaccine and were MUCH safer to have as children than adults.

There wasn't a chicken pox vaccine until 1995 and pox parties were fairly common. (Not something I would do, mind you)

Well, that's some unproven BS you're spreading.

The researchers noted that only a small group of people were studied and that the human body can also use T cells to kill the virus and B cells to produce new antibodies, Business Insider reported. Neither T cells nor B cells were measured in the new study.

Do you have to keep antibodies in your system for long periods of time to retain the memory needed to produce the antibodies?

I know some need booster shots, but those are vaccines.

Also, does keeping people from getting more constant exposure while having the antibodies prevent people from developing longer term immunity? If they are exposed to it more often, it means those antibodies would be reproducing more and longer term because new sources are being introduced.

As such, our efforts could in the longer term hurt peoples immune systems. Probably all kinds of lighter shite that build our immune systems up daily that we are missing right now.

But hey, what would our bodies know about taking care of a virus naturally? It's not like that's basically what cures people from it the majority of the time already right now or anything. Lets stop the natural processes our immune system needs/uses that has evolved over millions of years, what's the worse that can happen?

Don’t know why some people does anything these days of confusion

It seems to me that a football coach who comes out showing he is helping a political party could hurt the fan base

Has any sec coach’s come out helping one of the political parties ???

If so who are they ?
