The formation was perfect, the shift was perfect, the play was perfect. So was the Defense in OT.

Cam and 4 OL (RT, RG, C, LG) have those numbers and are on the line.......

That's 5 guys with OL numbers on the LOS.

It was the same as when A&M or Spurrier do Emory and Henry and run linemen out wide, we just kept a lineman looking tight end on the line to mess with your LB's eyes.

5 linemen were on the line (with no other player on the line in between them) along with a TE and a WR. The TE just happened to look like he was at LT and the LT was wide to the right.

It was pretty cut and dry actually. Equivalent, likely worse, than the no-call PI in the endzone against White. Your DB had the WRs arm with BOTH of his hands because he got smoked off the line and was wide open for 6.

Dude he did not get smoked and as I said both were hand checking and both were looking back. They are not going to call that

The actual play...is this it?

If so, the ball is dead when he gained possession at the one.

Edited to locate the play

(5) Henry has to become set prior to the play, which he didn't. Can't see it in the gif though.

Wasn't he in motion? You don't have to be set if you are in motion.. You just can't be going forward. An offensive player is in motion on probably half of all college football plays on any given Saturday.

Well that still shot doesn't tell the whole story, the WR was pushing off the db, offensive PI, to gain separation, fortunately for Bama the db was able to overcome and make the play.

I am speaking of the other punt that was correctly called a touchback.

But on the one you show a picture of, the guys motion never stopped, so the ball isn't " downed on the one " but rather should have been a touchback.

Really a simple call.

Glad arrakis confirmed that this punt was indeed the correct call.

Question for you refman. On the OT trick play Bama ran, after the initial shift, does Henry have to become set before the ball is snapped? (Top left, the ball is nearly to Sims hand before Henry assumes any time of WR style stance) Here is the youtube while the gif is configuring

Except you're wrong. Arrakis is a fricking ref man. He spends half his time on the rant correcting angry LSU fans.

Arrakis is Tom Ritter in disguise. FYI.

ARTICLE 2. a. Shift. After a huddle (Rule 2-14) or shift (Rule 2-22-1) and
before the snap, all Team A players must come to an absolute stop and remain
stationary in their positions for at least one full second before the ball is
snapped,
without movement of the feet, body, head or arms (A.R. 7-1-2-I).

So, as said, this should have been flagged. Unless I'm misreading what seems to be a very simple rule. Big D. Henry is actually moving while the ball is snapped.

Looks like a face mask on OJ that wasn't called.

Last play of the game, both are going for the ball. At least the Bama player isn't holding his hand. No PI.

Good grief, Henry set his feet and turned inward. Was it .5 seconds? .75 seconds? 1 second? I don't know, but he set his feet before the snap and is most definitely not moving. Was he set for a 1 Mississippi? No, probably not, but pretty close.

What's the next part of this play you'd like to claim the refs screwed LSU on?

Actually, he was set for zero seconds. I think we'll both agree he is set when his left foot goes to the back, correct?

He is 100% set when the ball is snapped. Was it for a "full second"? Probably not. How many times a game do you think guys from spread motion teams don't set for a full second? How on earth is an official supposed to count 1 second as opposed to .75 seconds or .5 seconds?

Come freaking on.

See for yourself. He never became set for a single moment pre-snap. He became set when the ball was halfway to the QB. You can't really say he's set in the first picture (they are just a few frames apart, obviously it takes very little time for the ball to travel from the center to the QB). It's cut and dry.. missed call.

What the F does that prove? One shot he's moving and the ball had not been snapped and the next the ball is being snapped and he's totally set. There is literally zero way to show the first shot was less than a second before the snap. None.

Seriously, this is sad. First you were convinced we lined up wrong and were proven wrong, now you are going to convince us the refs blew it because Henry was set for 0.65 seconds instead of 1.0 seconds.
