This guy is just going to look foolish when Cam comes off the board as the 1st or 2nd QB taken overall. Sure the kid has character issues but questioning his leadership is flat out stupid. The guy is a game changer, he takes the team and put them on his back. Or in the case of the LSU he puts the defense on his back as well.

Sorry, but I agree with him. Just because you take a team to a national championship doesn't necessarily mean you're a good leader. And to say 2 straight national championships as if they are the same thing is pretty hilarious.
Auburn fans are so touchy about their little Cam, that when anyone says something bad, he's immediately trying to push some agenda.
Yeah, Cam was a great player, but the way he acted made it seem like he just showed up on saturday, jumped around in the stands like a monkey with his bug stupid grin to get attention. be a little humble douchebag. And this guy is just saying everything is earned in the NFL, you're not just gonna walk in and get respect.

Sucks watching one guy completely destroy your supposed good defense don't it?

My "Germans" post was joke on the thread title since Cam's name has been getting obliterated since November. Quit being such a sensitive douche-bag that you get mad when people don't hate Cam as much as you do.

No, actually, the guy will look foolish if Cam turns out to be a quality NFL QB. Even if he is taken very high, if Newton has issues associated with anything in the article (work ethic/personality disrupting the locker room/etc.) that affects his play on the field or if Newton just outright crashes and burns, then he'll look anything but. There were some people who questioned Jamarcus' being the number one pick, and not a one of them look foolish today.

I have no idea how Newton will do in the NFL, but every sports league is filled with hugely talented guys, some of whom were among the best at their position in college...and many of these 'best in college' turn out to be duds or just middle-of-the-road/journeymen type athletes in the pros. But that's what makes pro sports fun...and it's why I tend to not pay too much attention to 'experts' trying to predict the future of a 20-something-year-old.

I think a lot of critism directed toward cam is warrented. I just hope he isnt a bust in the NFL,but I think the chances are good that he might.

Only read a FEW posts on the first page so sorry if someone covered this.

Yeah, he can lead a locker room of young immature guys that think all the hype BS that comes with Cam is still cool. But what is a locker room full of battle hardened veterans gonna think about his flash in the pan nonsense? I think he will have a serious problem getting those kind of guys to buy in to his me first mentality IMO.

does not command respect from teammates and will always struggle to win a locker room
So he comes in to Auburn in his first year on campus, to a team with 20 something seniors on it and becomes not only a vocal leader in the locker room, but a rallying point for his team. Yeah, I can see him not getting respect or winning over his teammates...

Lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness
Go back and look at Auburn's offense in the second half and fourth quarter throughout the season. Newton was lights out in situations where AU was tied or behind. To be able to move the ball and score in those situations takes a to of dertemination, focus and drive.

Always knows where the cameras are and plays to them.
That may not be a bad thing in the eyes of team owners and marketing/PR people. If you have a dynamic person in a marquee position, his flash may actually draw more people who are into the flash and antics. For a team that struggles to put butts in seats or get decent tv numbers, he might be just what they need.

Was he a leader at Florida?

Look, I could care less if he fails or succeeds. I'd rather him succeed, but for AU fans coming out and bashing a highly regarded expert is laughable.

He was a true freshman at UF. Are true freshman usually team leaders?

What is laughable is that a "highly regarded expert"(I'd never heard of him until today) says that Newton can't win over a locker room when he has won 2 straight national titles.
