Joe Burrow had a retinue of future NFL stars on his team. Cam Newton had himself.
There you have it, folks. Alabama fans are now backing Auburn. A new low. Since Indiana pounded them into irrelevance, they’ve hopped on Ole Miss and Auburn‘s cock to manufacture, weak arguments.
Cam Newton, the quarterback that pulled his cock out and pushed it down the Alabama defense’s throat in the second half of the 2010 game and erased a 21 point lead, now has Bama fans dick riding him because they desperately need some sort of argument to make against Joe Burrow and the record books that show they’re inbred fools.
Oh but LSU/Bama is not a true rivalry. Get Ole Miss’s cock out of your mouth, go troll Auburn and get off our nutsack.

He will make it on the second year and that’s ok.

Rest of his seasons are prob the reasons..

He had one great season..
Pat Dye said that the greatest athlete he ever saw in college, was Bo Jackson. The greatest football player? Cam Newton.

Dude was a starter for one season. IDGAF how great that season was, that’s not First Ballot HOF territory.
Mark Ingram had one great season as a starting RB at Alabama and was a first ballot HOFer.
Take your Crimson-colored glasses off for a second and ask yourself if Barry Sanders deserved to be a first ballot HOFer for his one great season as the starting RB for Oklahoma State in 1988.

Von Miller did that,
Three times in that game. Cam hasn't been the same since.

This is intellectual dishonesty. Both of your examples, Ingram and Sanders, had meaningful snaps while splitting carries with other RBs. Ingram started a second season as well.
Cam Newton had thrown 6 passes in the NCAA before that one season at Auburn, and he completed 3 of them.
I don’t think he should be disqualified from the HOF, but First Ballot for having one season of quality production is really silly, IMO.
Is there any other QB who was a First Ballot CFB HOF who started for only one season? Serious question - I actually don’t know the answer. I would be surprised, though.

I don’t know enough about the CFBHOF to know if he should or shouldn’t be a first ballot member.
But it can’t be a surprise that he wasn’t. Every day for 2-3 months some writer had an article about “ they have Auburn this time”. A lot of those writers are still around & vote

We did ruin Alabama's season in 2022, so that's nice.
Now do how many L3U seasons have been ruined by Bama.

Didn’t he recently say he still gets people bringing up him not jumping on that fumble? One play basically ruined how people remember him

Completely disagree.
This isn’t the NFL where players under consideration for the HOF usually play 10-15+ seasons. Many college players only play three seasons, and some (like Barry Sanders behind Thurman Thomas for two years) have to share the stage with other great players.
In my opinion, winning the Heisman should be an automatic induction into the HOF barring any legal issues.

I guess it’s still under further investigation

Ingram failed to go over 1,000 yards in two of the three seasons he played at Alabama. He only finished 1st Team All-SEC once and was barely a 2nd Team All-SEC selection in 2010. When he left Alabama for the NFL, he had fewer career rushing yards than Kenneth Darby. If he hadn't won the Heisman Trophy in 2009, it's a good bet he isn't selected to the CFB Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
Barry Sanders had fewer than 180 career carries going into his third and final season with Oklahoma State in 1988 due to playing behind Thurman Thomas. He had 373 carries in 1988. If you don't think he got into the CFB Hall of Fame on the first ballot based exclusively on what he did in 1988, you're lying to yourself.

Unless he were to become a criminal, whatever he does in his personal life after he left Auburn for the NFL should not matter at all for CFB Hall of Fame
