It's definitely dependent on which program you are and how far a run off of a subpar season goes, and vice versa. NC State probably considers this season one of their best in recent history, while Auburn sees it as fun but hollow. If Auburn loses in the sweet 16 they definitely don't, and if NC State loses in the 2nd round it was just a bad year with a wild 10 days.

Places like Kentucky it's Final Four or bust. The rest of us there are a lot of shades of grey.

If Andy Reid physically ate himself would he be twice as fat or would he disappear

Kentucky better watch out with that mentality.

Bama had a stretch where our football job was toxic because of expectations. Some coaches wouldn't even consider the position.

Nothing wrong with wanting to win. But it can be a double edge sword.

Thank God the GOAT wasn't afraid.

When you have success, there's a tendency to play not to lose instead of playing to win. Hopefully, this move will reenergize him and work out well for both parties. I have zero issues with watching match ups between No.1 Arkansas v. No.2 Kentucky. Should be fun.

Belle, yall will be fine. Kids will come because it's Kentucky. You just have to find the right guy who fits your fanbase and culture.

Dude has made it to at least the Elite 8 twelve times in his career. 12!

He's had rosters full of McDonald's 5 Stars. It's the coach's job to get them to play. Why will the results change being in Arkansas instead of Kentucky?

This has been tough on you. Sadly, it is likely to get worse.

He won 64 percent his last four years. He was 1-3 in the NCAA losing to 14 and 15 seeds. He lost first round SEC tournament the last two years and hadn't won anything in the SEC ie. regular season or tournament in four seasons.

The people on here bashing Kentucky are the same ones that
a) Ran off Phil Fulmer
b) Ran off multiple Florida coaches
c) Ran off Houston Nutt
d) Ran off Malzahn
e) Ran off pick your ex Bama coach

when they had similar results. And you know what, they were right.

Cal underachieved. Maybe he will do better at Arkansas. But he wasn't cutting it the last four years.

This could be a win-win situation.

I wonder though if this is such a slam dunk for Arkansas why he was their third or fourth choice?

Cal first came here he said, "Two tournament wins in four seasons just doesn't cut it in Lexington". Right out of his mouth.

He has had one win the last four years.

Lots of misrepresentations on Kentucky fans expectations on here. We know a final four isn't going to happen every year. We do expect to beat 14 and 15 seed teams and go to the sweet 16 more times than not. We expect our coach to win more than 64 percent of his games with elite talent. We expect our teams to play defense, rebound and play hard.

I would think Arkansas fans would expect the same.

Who is this ex Bama coach that was run off by fans with similar success to Cal? If you are talking about Gottfried, fair enough. If you are talking about the last football coach......?

I also 100% agree with Kentucky folks. They were actually pretty patient. The last 5 years have not been to the Kentucky standard, and that's before considering the talent on the rosters.
