The fricking whining from MS State fans about Mullen on here is just pitiful. He worked wonders at MSU and was probably the best coach State ever had. I graduated from UF and MSU and am a fan of both, but the fact is that he left for a better job and a new opportunity. Get the frick over it and stop bad mouthing a great coach.

Mullen told Cohen the day after the Alabama game this year that he wouldn't be back. He had already quit.

He also told the team the week of the Arkansas game that he wasn't going anywhere.

He was also DM'ing with John Currie about the Tennessee job moments before playing the Egg Bowl.

He deserves thanks for his contributions. He also deserves ridicule for the way he handled his departure. Most don't fault him for taking a different job. He was there 9 years and it was probably time to move on. How he did it reeks of douchiness. That's the issue most have.

Sell. He will get a good quarterback and have Florida competitive again in the next 2-3 years

ETA: He may already have that QB... so develop may have been the correct word to use

Yep. And Fitz says when Mullen took the Florida job, Mullen came in said, "Hey guys, I don't really don't know what to say. I'm leaving." Then he left.

Bottom line: I don't like how he handled leaving. Still, he did a great job here and left us with a great team this year. I had some problems with him but overall, he was really good here. But here's the thing about him at Florida- They have different expectations. They have a higher standard. They expect championships and for Mullen to win championships, he has to be able to beat Kirby Smart- and I don't think he can.

Sell. He will succeed just like he succeeded at MSU. The guy can coach

Depends on his first two recruiting classes.

I think he will do well at UF as long as they don't get too butt hurt about the recruiting rankings. If they let him do his thing and he lands 1 or 2 difference makers in each class he will have a chance to be really really good but he won't recruit at as high of a level as I think most UF fans are expecting.

He was realistically 2-3 more stud players away from winning the west a couple of times. I think he gets those 2-3 extra guys at UF and will do well.

But again,if your expecting Mullen to bring in a bunch of top 5-10 classes you will be disappointed.

He will be at Florida until he replaces Coach Saban at Alabama when Coach Saban retires

Sell. He will have marginal success, and be given 5 years.

Yep

I think Mullen will be slow to major success and may never genuinely compete for titles, but I think he'll eliminate the inconsistency and have Florida in the east race within a year or two.

He's a solid coach who will put some pressure on UGA. Tennessee could have used such a hire.

I think some of you have your buy/sell backwards. It is like a question of whether to buy or sell stock. If the future looks bright you buy; if the future looks bleak you sell.

Need more information.

Will FL be ok with seven to nine wins a season with a 10 spot mixed in every now and then? Then no. He will be there a while.

Does FL expect the SEC title within 3 years? With multiple appearances in the sec champ game being the norm? If that, gone in 3.

He already knows that. For example, Mac put up SEC East titles in the Swamp but Mullen took that shite down when he got here.

Sell: mullen gets the most out of his players and only has one legit competitor in his division in Georgia and one occassional dark horse in South Carolina. He’ll consistently win 10 games with the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party deciding who represents the east in Atlanta.
