Buster’s potential move to Georgia OC

I have a strong suspicion that Buster Faulkner would only consider an offensive coordinator role in Athens, GA. Bobo would transition to a role as an analyst. The question is: Does UGA want Aaron Philo included in the Buster Faulkner deal?

Should I know who Buster Faulkner is?
I mean, maybe I should... but I honestly have no clue.
I also don't know who the Aaron Philio guy is.

Not happening and we don’t want Aaron.

He was Stetson Bennet’s QB coach and is currently the offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech. He lives in Athens & works in Atlanta

I’d think his next move would be head coach somewhere.

Would love to have Faulkner back in Athens, but I don't think Bobo takes a demotion to analyst and stays at Georgia.
Is Philo any good? I know they didn't want to burn his red shirt and he didn't play vs. UGA but I didn't see any Tech games that Philo played in.

I told you UGA fans when Bobo was hired that the offense would struggle and I was assured that I was wrong.
My how the turntables

In my opinion, Buster might consider some head coaching positions, but his ideal trajectory is similar to that of Dan Lanning. I suspect that if he isn’t offered the offensive coordinator position at UGA, he'll spend another year at GT.

I'd prefer to wait and see what your OC can do without needing so many rushing yards from the quarterback. Tech had a nice offense when they used Haynes King like a running back. That's not a strategy that works well in a 16 game season, unless you have several backup quarterbacks who can step in without a dropoff.

Ive seen a marked drop in Georgia since Monken left. Smart losing Monken was about as big as Deboer losing Grubb. An OC can make or break a team.

It’s more WR philosophy than anything. They say they are going to do differently this offseason but we shall see. If they don’t next year will be Bobos last.

LSU should 100 percent fire Sloan and get Buster

It's intriguing to contemplate, but I don't know if it happens.
I've been a Bobo critic as much as anyone, but especially how the ball keeps hitting Mike Bobo in the hands and he won't complete the catch.
If Georgia's WRs could finish a catch, Beck may be in the Heisman conversation.

Most GA fans would take him as OC
Bobo seems like a pain to have to tell about a demotion and Kirby knows him best
Would be shocked the position would be offered since Buster was seen as an underling to Bobo in some ways while he was there.

I'd take most people over Bobo. Bring him down.

Just have them both as Co-Offensive coordinators with Bobo being a lame duck.

Lol...Buster is a great coach but he's not getting a HC job anywhere near Lanning getting the Oregon job..

Buster is a good play caller who maximizes what he’s got. Haynes King what completing 78% with zero sacks until he fricked up his shoulder. The gameplan evolved. Aaron Philo might move the ball on Georgia’s defense too but he’s a true freshman and a running QB freaks out Kirby for some reason.

Philo runs more like Beck than King. Not really a duel threat to anyone but NC State.

I didn't say he wasn't a good play caller, and I didn't comment on King's passing. What I said was that he uses his qb's as a runner more than I like, and my guess more than Kirby likes too.
Stetson Bennett, who was the closest thing Kirby's had to a dual threat, had 113 carries in 29 games in 2021 and 2022. King has 235 carries in the last 23 games. It's a good strategy for Tech, but not necessarily for teams planning to play 16 game seasons. Georgia wants to run a pro-style offense.
