Well, any senior or declaring junior wouldn't be playing in anymore games.

If he only gave money to players going out AFTER their last game, then I'm pretty sure that's not an infraction. Unless some of them are also on the track team and were still going to participate on that.

How you figure.

Only evidence is JJ and Joe: two players who are no longer going to be at LSU

For the last time, after the game, Joe Burrow was no longer a student-athlete and he can take money from anyone. Jefferson will probably turn pro and if it is proven that Kirkland accepted money then he simply needs to give it back and it will be a non-issue. OBJ was extremely excited and probably a little tipsy but he needs to make better decisions.

It doesnt really matter if the money was real or fake. Its the optics of a former player handing out cash for the entire world to see. The only people who dont see the problem with this are LSU fans, who are not known for their objectivity.

Additionally, lets not forget that a year ago the basketball team was in the news every day because the head coach was on tape bragging about making a strong arse offer. If you continue to tug on Superman's cape(NCAA) it is inevitable you eventually get burned.

Don’t forget about that minor hospital charity funding to pay families of players issue. If LSU is not careful here, NCAA might suspect there is a pattern. Flying mighty close to the sun

A drunken idiot handing out money after a game/season is not the same as some shady underground ish.

LSU immediately investigated it.

This is not a big deal at all.

All they have to do is give the money back. What's to say they didn't?

Again, this was a drunken idiot after a game being obnoxious all night long.

Not even remotely the same.

I don't understand why some fans of other teams are this desperate to try and make this some big deal.

LSU was made aware of it and they are acting on it.. Immediately.

Okay, but that’s not what he said.

Big Cat asked if OBJ handed him money too and Burrow said yes. Never mentioned it being real.

This is so stupid.

My goodness. Such a reach.

They aren't going to let the players it would affect actually keep real money.

The man was acting a fool all night. He was slapping cops on the arse as well.

If it turns out that it was real cash,

1) The players who received it should openly return it

2) OBJ should be banned from any further interaction with the LSU team.

This is not acceptable by current NCAA standards, and it is a bad look for the university. Odell may love his Tigers, but ar his age he should know that this will kill the program he thought he loved. This could lead to the death knell for LSU football if it's not straightened out in a freakin' hurry!

Well I guess we will know the truth if OBJ and Burrow end up in jail for having counterfeit money.

I mean...it happened after the game. And it couldn’t have been no more than $500 to a player. Worse case scenario the returning players have to pay it back and MIGHT get a 1 game suspension....against a Patsy in the 1st game

FYI FWIW LSU fans, NCAA was about to conclude the investigation into ole miss until draft night made them look bad when Tunsil admitted it. Then they decided to make an example. Burrow is basically doing the same thing here but worse because he’s almost taunting them.

Not even close to the same thing but keep the dream alive, little weeble.

Except it wasn’t “nothing” in your case and you know it. There was plenty of evidence and it was all listed in the NOA you received.

You got zero punishment for what Tunsil said on draft night and it had zero effect on the sanctions you received. You were already under investigation and the incident with Tunsil was never even mentioned.
