You are. But this thread just screams 'bama obsession. I know it is a tough year to be an LOLSU fan when all of your men's sports teams are doing shitty. Hopefully y'all don't become the next Nebraska.

Comparing Brian Kelly and DeBoer in this context and acting like they are similar situations is fricking retarded man, obviously.

Deboer won 9 games his 1st season and 10 games his second season, including making the SECCG and playoffs.
Kelly won 10 games in his first season and made the SECCG.
His second season he won 9 games.
DeBoer is trending up, Kelly was trending down.
Even you should be able to figure out the difference.

Kelly won 10 games in both year 1 and 2, hence the 20-7 record.
Also, is a one game differential really that much of a "trend" anyway?

DeBoer makes ALL his practices and the players don't need to "make an appointment" to talk to him. Kelly was a fraud.

As Bammer fans like to remind us, those early 2000's Bama teams were terrible and coming off of sanctions.
I don't think they were terrible. They were certainly mediocre, however. The 2004 and 2005 teams had elite defenses that just couldn't get it together offensively due to key injuries (most of which was caused by a lack of depth thanks to NCAA sanctions). That being said, Shula was still able to produce a 10-win and Top 10-finishing squad in '05.
The 2006 and 2007 squads were 6+ loss teams but they played everyone tough and were in most games going into the fourth quarter.
Anyways...DeBoer is an obvious step down from Saban but he's currently winning at our historic average (greater than 70%).

Yet, DeBoer has only been marginally better (finished #9 in the CFP rankings after his second year vs Kelly finishing #13), despite taking over a much better situation.

That is certainly debatable. I would argue it was a better situation but I wouldn't call it "much" better. Alabama lost around 30 players due to transfer from the time the 2023 regular season ended to the time the portal closed four weeks after Saban officially hung it up. In that number included a future Top 10 draft pick and a Heisman finalist.
Not only that, Saban clearly had a lot of misses in recruiting on the offensive line over the last few cycles. Many of our problems offensively the past two years has been due to a lack of an inside running game - which was a staple of Alabama Football during the dynasty years under Saban.

Alabama had stacked top 2 or 3 recruiting classes for years prior and was one play from the natty.

LSU lost about 45 players between 2021 and 2022, due to the portal, draft, etc
They played the 2022 season with only 72 players due to sanctions.

Same for LSU and BK. I would argue that DeBoer/Grubb have never really produced great running games though. They're usually always bottom third of the teams in FBS.

A third of those transferred out and a number of them (particularly on the offensive line and at the running back position) didn't pan out.

Hence why I said Alabama was in a better situation, but not a much better situation.

That's better than having the lower ranked classes of LSU and then even worse attrition plus sanctions.

As an LSU grad and life long fan, I have no idea why we continue to challenge bama over football topics. We don’t have near the overall success, nor head to head. Move along and be happy to to be relevant to all other programs. Just my opinion.
