Arkansas was an idiot for thinking they can play with the big boys by hiring him.

I still don't see why everyone seems to drool over Jen Bielema. She is too skinny. She has no hips. Instead of an hourglass type figure you can just draw two straight lines down from her shoulders.

It's like the nerds on the internet don't ever get laid. They'll beat off over anyone with a cute face and blonde hair. It's weird.

Is it really true that this is part of a coach's contract of how his wife will carry out her duties?

Why would anyone want him. He sucked at Arkansas and Wisconsin was good before and after he was there .

I don't think a big 12 or SEC should hire him.

But a group of 5?

Dabo and Urban
both used a dynamic, powerful back to run on Saban. It was the balance of the threat that made those teams so competitive vs Bama.

Freeze was an anomaly. Strong offensive mind exploited matchups and played to his strengths. He'd be a terror on Kiffin's staff as OC with both of their abilities to craft strong opponent focused offensive game plans.

And, you left out the most successful coach vs Saban. Gus Malzahn, his golden horseshoe and the whirly bird are too much for Saban to beat more than twice every 3 years

You are very sensitive I always liked Bert and I have pointed out on here several times that I like Pittman and that him leaving was the downfall of Bert.

Bert was a good coach. His Three straight Rose Bowls speak for themselves.

It’s just impossible to win at Arkansas. You’ve got no talent pool in the state, Fayetteville is closer to Witchita, Kansas than any SEC school, and despite having great facilities, they play one home game a year in a dump in Little Rock and another in Dallas.

It’s a coaching graveyard.

Yeah I think Arky is much more suited for the Big 12. The style of ball that Bert ran would actually put a jolt of physicality in that conference, where DBs are not apt at tackling in space. The irony in that is they go up against fast receivers and dual threat running backs (rushing and receiving) all year and the teams in the Big 12 still have never learned how to tackle. Wisconsin has always been a physical brand but Arky has gone through different offensive styles. They just can’t recruit there because Branson, MO is the closest “big” city to Fayetteville. Or Tulsa, OK.

He's an Iowa alum. He's probably in good shape to replace Ferentz when he retires given his track record in the conference at Wisconsin and his ties to the program.

Until then why not collect super bowl rings in New England.

Is Barry Alvarez going with him?

Bielema had plenty of talent at Arkansas, just underachieved with it. Roster in 2014 when he was close to and should have won 9-10 games:

QB Brandon Allen- Started games for Broncos this year
RB Alex Collins- Led Ravens in rushing in 2017
RB Jonathan Williams- Current Colts starter
WR Keon Hatcher - Packers practice squad
WR Drew Morgan - Dolphins practice squad (since cut)
TE Hunter Henry - Chargers starter
TE Jeremy Sprinkle - Redskins backup
TE AJ Derby - Spent 4 years as NFL backup
OL Denver Kirkland - Raiders backup (since cut)
OL Sebastian Tretola - 4th round draft pick
OL Frank Ragnow - 1st round pick, Lions starter
OL Dan Skipper - Lions backup
DE Trey Flowers - Pro bowl caliber
DT Darius Philon - Cardinals backup
DE Deatrich Wise - Patriots starter
LB Martrell Spaight - first team all-SEC, former NFL backup

He came very close to winning 9-10 games in 2015 and 2016 as well. He wasn't that far off from working out here but it just fell apart at the end. His ability to blow leads was unlike anything I've ever seen and it caused us to lose a TON of close games. But there was definitely talent on those rosters, in fact we were in the top 5 in the SEC in amount of players drafted under him for a while.

He actually did have success in bully balling LSU until the program unraveled thanks to his drinking and he came closer to doing so against Alabama than Petrino managed.

The one year we had a good O-Line and a competent QB Arkansas put up monster numbers. We went 7-2 down the home stretch and the only reason some of those games were shootouts was because our defense fell off a cliff.

One of those 7 wins was whipping LSU 31-14.

It wasn't that his game plan to run the ball behind a big offensive line and go play action pass was doomed to fail. That worked fairly well until our line play fell apart. It was that he drove off Pittman, started drinking even more heavily, continued to allow team fitness to be horrible, and proved almost incapable of recruiting decent linemen.

People fall in love with schemes. "If only we were running the triple ripple buttplug air raid offense!" It isn't so much the scheme as how well you execute it. Plenty of people are running a spread offense with some variants of the air raid and RPO. And plenty of people are getting their asses handed to them running that style.

It is way more important to have the players for the offense and to execute it well then it is to have some magic bullet scheme. If LSU had the Jordan Jefferson patented heave it up in the air and pray QB play going right now they'd have 4 or more losses and would be preparing to take in the sights at Shreveport instead of competing for a national title.

Army is running the older than dirt flexbone and was ranked last year. They aren't this year because injuries have kept their execution poor. Navy, on the other hand, is running the same offense and is executing the system just fine. Navy is 9-2 and ranked. Do you have the players to run the offense and can they do it at a high level? That is what matters more than anything else.

You have just basically highlighted the difference between the NFL and CFB. In the pros, you need to find the players that fit within the system. In college, you need to find the athletes who will execute when the talent levels are equal to your opponent, and when they are not equal, just out-athlete them into submission.

Not surprising if true. In fact, I kind of suspected this.

The rapid weight gain was a pretty good indicator that he had some sort of major health problem.

Les Miles ain't walking through that door anymore.

LSU has won 56-20, 24-17, 33-10, and 38-10 since Miles was shown the door.

I liked Les, but he practiced his teams too hard, and LSU was worn out by time they played Arkansas.

Coach O doesn't do that.
