He'd probably be at Tennessee right now if their AD situation hadn't been a monumental clusterfrick

I bet he would have pussed out.

But we will never know. I wish he would take the shot, at any school. I'd just like to see him down here

Eventually we'll figure out that Leach wants no part of being an SEC HC. There's no way he hasn't been approached, and yet he remains at Wazzou. He should just admit that he likes to stay at that level and doesn't want to mix it up with the monsters in this league

Seems like more than one "reporter" from Arkansas claims he wants a big raise and big buyout. Not sure that can really be trusted since in general Arkansas reporters are meh at best.

entirely. Moorhead's limp dick performance in the bowl game and player fight sealed his fate.

This. Had that not happened and we beat Louisville Joe gets another year without too much heat on him

I don't think Leach has anything to prove to anybody. TBH I don't think he really wants to have to appease an SEC fanbase or boosters. It isn't about the competition. We have seen almost out right revolts from half of the SEC fanbases over the past 5 yrs.

You and rockiee probably have nailed it. He's going to make damn sure that he's more than well compensated before he starts putting up with a crazy SEC fanbase Sticking to his Pirate Code

The recruits that signed will be released from their commitment now. Gonna be tough on whoever they hire to put together a class this late.

This is why I think we already have someone hired. A coaching search full of uncertainty would cause everyone to leave. Announce a coach within 48 hours so he can come talk to the recruits convince them to stay

Any player would have to go through a 6-8 week process of appeal, and MSU would have to release them.

Coaching changes are not grounds for release. It was just a reb shooting his mouth off

We want former State guys to bring an identity back to the program. Joe has zero identity. His program had a horrible case of schizophrenia.

Over the last 3 decades MSU has had 4 coaches, we dont mind losing a few games but this shitshow had to end before he took us back to the depths of the Croom years.

I agree. This was not yanking the guy early. A trend had been established with Miss. State under Moorhead and it wasn't heading in a positive direction.

He took over what might very have been the most talented team in State history and badly under performed with it. Locker room issues were getting out of control. He lost the fan base through his statements and actions. Moorhead needed to go.

Pete golding is no good. Don't know what saban ever saw in that guy to be head defense coordinator. But in my defense saying I sure hope saban keeps holding as defense coordinator. What a Xmas present : )

Billy Napie

Is he an upgrade from moorhead?

He has won the conference both seasons at ULL and won 10 games this year, 11 if he wins the bowl game

Napier wasn’t even on our radar

Your own sites confirmed that Napier told you guys he wasn't interested. He also told Mizzou he wasn't interested in interviewing there.

He was interested in the Ole Miss job and it came down to him and Kiffin. The Rebs chose wrong and that will work out for us.

You make a good point. It hilarious seeing some people talk out both sides of their mouth on this board. Calling us terrible under Moorhead, and then saying we're dumb because we didn't stick with him. The fickleness is comical.

We had folks mocking us for firing Chad Morris just a week after they mocked us for going winless in the SEC with him.

Moorhead had to go and I've been saying this for a couple of weeks. Things had gotten too toxic there, and he lost the locker room and the fans.

Maybe the next guy y'all hire is a complete disaster. We will see. There is, however, no doubt that State was going to hell in a hand basket with Moorhead. Better to roll the dice with a new coach than stick with one you know wasn't working out.

Hahaha sure coaches will be lined up to jump at that job that can get you fired after two seasons.

Exactly. Unless they already have an amazing coach lined up, this is the dumbest firing ever. They're fricking Mississippi State. What makes them think firing a coach after 2 years is smart? They're absolutely delusional.

Huh? Im sure there are some great coaches at smaller schools that would jump at trying to prove themselves for 3-4million a year. What the heck are yall talking about??

Lol. The fricking ell is State thinking? They're historically the worst program in the SEC west. You keep a coach that can win 6 games a year there. Napier would be a fool to take that job.
