Boosters have gone cheap and Auburn is imploding

- Lost 5 star WR Jase Matthews to Ole Miss
- Lost 5 star safety Bralan Womack to Mississippi State
- 4 star WR Perry Thompson to the Portal
- Signed the #43 ranked recruiting class, one of our worst ever
- About to lose 5 star WR Cam Coleman and 5 star QB Deuce Knight to the portal
Auburn’s boosters are continuing the con job and have decided not to pay for top talent with a new coach coming in. They went cheap on Freeze back in the summer for the 2026 class too.
They’ll pony up for the 2027 class (con job pays for a good class every few years to keep the fanbase engaged and ticket sales up) but the damage will already be done at that point and Golesh will be set up for failure.

I think this will happen more and more. Oregon is the one spigot that won’t stop and they’ll probably win 3 out of every 5 CFPs

Highly rated WRs should avoid this system like the plague. NFL teams generally don’t spend big money on WRs coming from a Veer/Shoot system, because they don’t know how to run a route tree when they come out.

When I saw how much a lot of Auburn basketball tickets on Stubhub were going for earlier this year, I wondered about this. There's not an infinite amount of Auburn money, and when boosters and supporters start spending it in different places, it couldn't be great for football.

This is a good hire. If they can't see it then well Yellafella isn't as football savvy as his business acumen.

We could have Andy Reid coaching our offense and it wouldn’t matter because the boosters aren’t committed to paying what it takes.

Its probably not as bad as it seems. Perry Thompson isnt that good.
The portal makes recruiting rankings less important. And isnt there a 2nd signing day?

I think it’s a good hire too but it doesn’t matter if you’ve got cheap arse boosters.

Because it only makes sense to spend money like that if you are an athletic apparel company and not a university.
It makes zero fricking sense for state universities to operate in a system like this.

I've been saying since you nerds hired him that the Auburn cult will run him out on a rail eventually. I even told some of you to bookmark it.
He singlehandedly set the Mississippi State University's NIL back by years because he's a dog shite AD.
We tried to tell Florida with Stricklin, now Auburn with Cohen, that our plan is coming together: We own this conference.
