Shitty arse Arkansas averaged something like 60k per game in 2019 and they got blown out by Western Kentucky.

I think this girl thinks that if minor league football were a thing that paid 18-21 year old players then college football would dry up and be replaced. Hate to break it to her, but that wouldn’t happen. SEC baseball, for instance, does much better than most minor league baseball teams do. College basketball programs with no NBA talent do just fine. Maybe she just has a warped view because GA tech isn’t much of a draw because they put very little emphasis on athletics.

Tulane and UAB dont have the fanbase size that LSU and Alabama do, fanbase has nothing to do with talent.

A huge fanbase isn't going to watch shitty talent unless you're in a shite hole town like Columbia, south carolina

You guys act like you'd have packed stadiums with Wake or Vandy talent, all those sidewalk alums would stop following in a heartbeat

Fanbase size doesn't mean everyone loses their standards and is willing to accept shitty Talent

Okay,you're entitled to your opinion.

There's a reason no one agrees with you though.

Not sure how you'd even know what we'd accept talent wise since you're a Georgia Tech fan...

What? Of course it does.

Who the hell is drawing huge crowds in lesser talented divisions like FCS and Dll?

Look at attendence when Army,Navy or Pennsylvania when they were powerhouses and elite programs in the 40's and 50' especially when Army or Navy would play their home games at places like Yankee
Stadium.

Is it ALL about talent and the level of play? No but it sure as hell is a factor and people knowing it's the highest level of competition (non NFL) also plays a factor.

Please explain why it is OK for these "lower tier sports" to live the Life of Riley and get entitled to perpetual WELFARE where the burden id on another group of Athletes to fund their Athletic existence while they are in College?

So you are admitting that athletes live the life of Riley and if the lower tier sports are living that life then the football players are for sure living the life of Riley.

So your theory is those who perform and put the most at risk should get the money and the advantage. So we agree.

So should the business people who work the hardest and put the most at risk should have the life of Riley and keep most of the money.

I would bet you disagree and are a liberal wanting to tax small and big business and spread the wealth.

Your post said it all

All I said was "Amateur Sports, student athletes and football funds most sports" and like America most businesses fund America and employ.

Maybe we should shut down sports both college and professional and let the athletes get jobs.

If you don't the attendence has drastically dropped in the Ivy League from the 40's and 50's you have no idea about the history of CFB.Penn led the country
in attendence in the late 30's and 40's

quote:

In 1938-1942 Penn drew more people to Quakers games than any other university in the country, with 1,780,500 observers in those four years. It is very easy to see how this legacy was born.

Army played Penn in 1953 and it drew an estimated 80,000 fans.

Penn barely averaged 5,000 these days.
LINK

And it's across the board in the Ivy League after big time CFB was "de emphasized" in the 60's

Amazing that you love to talk tough to the Revenue Athletes that merely want a larger piece of the Economic Pie, a pie where they generate 95% ++ of the Revenues, yet you love to tell them to "get jobs"

But you never talk tough to the NonRevs that don't produce jack shite and instead they lose Tons of Money, but you never talk tough to them and tell them go break even you lazy assholes or maybe turn a fricking profit every other year

But you never say anything to them

You are very unforgiving on those that clearly EXCEL, FB & MBB gross $6 billion each yr at the Power5 schools, you're unforgiving towards them, but you sure do go easy on the laggards that don't generate shite

I wonder why?

Keep repeating this. It gets more persuasive each time, even if the numbers aren’t accurate

Your own school’s athletic department loses money every year, yet you want to pay players. El oh el

Those media deals aren’t just for two sports btw.

Would players at Bama and Vandy get paid the same? Ohio State and Rutgers? Wouldn't the same logic apply that it's not Bama's responsibility to be paid the same as Vandy and Maryland? Then if schools are paid more that just creates a recruiting advantage.

Now you're just being stupid

Living the Life of Riley is having another entity paying your way in the world

FB & MBB earn their way, in fact, they literally earn everyone else's way in the Athl Dept for that matter

When the Power5 by itself grosses $6 billion a year from FB & MBB , they are clearly working their asses off

TBH P5 FB players in College just might work harder than NFL Players, they might not have the raw talent, but they work extremely hard, they earn everything they get and deserve a lot more

I honestly don’t know why she’s complaining so incessantly with NIL on the way. If players have as much value as she believes they do, then the market will pay them their worth.

She also may be the biggest jock sniffer I’ve ever seen in my life, and that’s saying a lot.
