Booger saying what we all know.
Except UGA fans, of course.

“If you are a Bulldog fan and you are going to sit there and stare honesty in the eye – Kirby has done less with more maybe than Mark Richt,” McFarland said, as shared by the official Twitter account of “The Paul Finebaum Show.”

The point of this thread is Booger trying to say that Smart has done less than Richt which is demonstrably false.

He's done more than Richt, but he should be doing better than he is. Kirby was hired in 2016. Here's the top recruiting schools since 2016 with their class rankings listed beside them.

#1 Bama -- 1, 1, 7, 1, 2
#2 UGA - 7, 3, 1, 2, 1
#3 Ohio State -- 4, 2, 2, 14, 5
#4 LSU -- 3, 7, 15, 5, 4
#5 Clemson -- 10, 16, 6, 10, 3
#6 Auburn -- 9, 9, 12, 11, 7

You can make an argument that Gus also underperformed even more than Kirbs. #6 overall since 2016 and was perennial 8-5.

But, yeah, Kirby's recruiting has been almost identical to Saban's with nothing to show for it really.

Thanks to expanding to include 4 teams instead of 2. Without that #3 UGA misses it with Kirby.

Tired argument is tired. If Richt had been "first 5 years" Richt for the remainder of his career, he'd likely still be in Athens. Simple fact, he was not. Partially that's on Richt. Partially that's on the program. Partially it's because Alabama hired the best coach in CFB history and they are now the obstacle that every SEC team must make it through to have a shot (or keep their shot in the case of 2017 for UGA and 2011 for LSU.

Name the "available" target coach (meaning not Saban and not Dabo) who would be a slam dunk to have performed better in Athens over the past 5 seasons... I'll hang up and listen.

uh... except without the playoffs, we'd still have been using the BCS... and strangely, it would have looked a little different

Who cares? The point is he got there under the set parameters. Richt never did that and he was at UGA for 15 years.

Also, Booger's attitude is exactly what's fricking CFB up in the first place. Richt had a great career at UGA and Smart has started off great too. This title or the year is shite mentality is ruining the fun of CFB.

Boo hoo we can't all have Nick Saban. Get over it.

Flarder had a 4 loss season, still has Mullen and 3rd and Grantham, and Gator fans can only snipe at their Daddy.

Subjective at best. UGA was number 3 and crept into a playoff. They dodged Bama, won a rematch in the SECTiitle game and had zero quality wins. 2017 was just a bad year for the playoffs with Bama winning it all but not winning their division much less conference.

And of course there is the whole it was the pinnacle of post Jimmy Carter UGA football. The UGA team have gotten better on paper while doing nothing during the season.

He's right... At one point UGA had more 5-star "rated" talent than anyone... They have been loaded and are still one of the most talented teams in the country BY FAR!! For LSU to absolutely MURDER them and Bama to rip out their hearts, during that period of recruiting lights out, has baffled me..

This isn't a knock on them but something is missing... Maybe they hire coaches that can't or won't adapt, can't say... I will say this though, UGA is the one time on Bama's schedule that truly concerned me and thought we had a 50/50 chance of losing... I was SHOCKED to see Bama basically do to them what LSU has done...

Part of me feels bad for this fans BUT Kirby was/is and always will be a douche so I love seeing his face whenever someone hands him his arse on a platter... Whipping him was way more enjoyable than the LSU revenge game... In all fairness, they weren't at full strength... Kirby has ZERO excuses..
