According to 247Sports, Alabama's football recruiting class (2027) is ranked next-to-last among all of the SEC's teams. It's early, but if this doesn't change significantly, DeBoer is going to reap a disappointing harvest of recruits.

It's not about the Xs and the Os, it's about the Jimmys and the Joes.

Welcome to the SEC Rant! You came out swinging with your very first post. I trust you are totally not an alter, because that would be against the rules (unless you are an admin).

Well, the Dutch are the most efficient farmers in the world.

Let's just see how it plays out.

This is somewhat accurate...but also has other connotations.

Etymology
De Boer : Dutch West Frisian East Frisian and North German: occupational name for a farmer or landsman from boer with the definite article de ‘the’.

So, if you are watching "Landman", in Dutch...you are watching "Boer".

I am curious to what is going on. Bama fans say they are taking a small class due to having a young team. That is all well and fine, but if that is the case why are you taking a small class of majority 3 stars? Why not take a small class of 4-5 stars?

Would only taking a handful of lower rated players possibly entice more transfers?

Well, based on how '28 recruiting is going so far, it appears we were saving money for the '28 class (in addition to the large chunk we spent on roster retention this past offseason).

Our roster is pretty young, so it probably didn't make sense to the staff to spend $$$ on 4 and 5 stars that were going to sit on the bench for at least a year.

3 stars will still be satisfied with a Charger and some weed money.

Alabama fans already crowning themselves for their 2028 recruiting class so far

It's still 2026

Because Alabama does not want to have to take out a loan or sell equity in the athletic program to pay for a bunch of 4 and 5 star high school seniors, many of whom will likely transfer after a year to the next highest bidder.
