The fact is that this chart shows the "upward" trend at A&M. As Fisher would say, "We aren't done yet." Also, Texas is artificially high on this list due to inflated rankings, but realistically these are the teams that are "in the discussion". And Alabama's percentage is absurd

The Tennessee mention is misleading because 80% of their blue chippers currently play elsewhere

Good read.

Also from the link:

If you were asked to name the top 10 programs, you would have most or all of these on the list. And every team on this list has won a title in the last 40 years except for Texas A&M, Oregon, and Georgia.

Oregon and Georgia have both been so close.

I guess the question is can the aggies take the next step? I would certainly think a 12 team playoff would help their chances.

That is the result of the Fisher recruiting classes, now that all of the older players are gone

Let's revisit your words at the end of the season Now that his players are installed there should be no excuses for not hoisting that trophy

You probably said similar things about Clemson and FSU then before they won one and they had significantly less talent than some of the top teams overall.

It's not saying they are winning it, just saying they have the talent minimum to qualify here.

I'll give you this but those teams were dominating a Conference with very little resistance.

I'm beginning to refuse acknowledgement of Oregon's legitimacy in these discussions until they prove me wrong.

They've somehow tapped into the same media preseason hype as Jim Harbaugh, with similar results.

Christobal can recruit - can he coach? That has yet to be answered

Yeah, and I'm a Mario fan, but he's really only had that one good year (12-2 in 2019).

Time to step up and earn that $5m/yr.

In Clemson's case they still had to win 2 playoff games, and against the #2 and #1 teams to boot.

There aren't 16 teams that can win a national title. Miami and USC have no chance in hell.

That will be a mixed bag for us.

On one hand: it increases the odds we get in the playoffs.

On the other hand: it increases the odds our local recruiting rivals (OU, Texas) get into the playoffs.

Auburn plays 5 of the 16. Does anybody else play 5 or more of the 16 top talent teams?

1. That was better than what they got.
2. He was like that near the end, but most of his career was better than that.
well for sure better than strong. He was all 3 of those losing seasons.

Herman’s 4-year tenure was more or less like Mack’s last 4 years, except vice versa to Mack, he would win the huge games and then have multiple gaffes against teams Texas was heavily favored against

Looks like Alabama plays Miami, Florida, Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn - so five also.
