All Florida schools struggled til the 80's..very, very, very easy to see why. Home AC became affordable. Population grew by insane numbers. Not very hard to figure out. Notice Miami, FSU, and UF became much more successful after? It is like talking to someone with an IQ around 50.

It is not very complicated at all.....

Why in the world would he leave the easy streets of the BigX for the meat grinder of the SEC??
He has the best team in the BigX now.

He could leave because he will make more money.

He could leave because he'll have a more talented roster.

He could leave because he wants to beat the best competition.

He could leave because he wants to coach a bigger program.

It is true that he is winning at a high level at Indiana with an easier schedule, and that could be a reason for him not to leave, but that doesn't mean there aren't reasons he would leave. I also don't think we'll offer and it's possible he would decline if we did. However, he's still the coach I want as my first option.

Wouldn't you want to know why Penn State was willing to pay a $50mm buy out to get rid of him?

He'll get a good job if he wants it. Some said he may want to stick it to PSU a couple years to make them pay some of the buyout at full price.

Stricklin and the SEC gave Napier the toughest schedule in the nation every year, but the up-and-coming doesn't look as tough. Even with the tough schedule, you need to be over 500 at Florida. If the incoming coach can keep the offensive weapons, watch out.

Lane has head coacing experience..needed to learn his lessons cause he was to young, but would take him now. 10 years ago not a chance.

So not sure how he is Mullen 2.0..please do not tell me it is because he was an OC.

Give em Hell Pell cheated like hell and so did Miami. FSU probably did but like Bryant, NCAA chose not to look too hard at Bowden.

This was very true for FSU. Looking back on it, how trivial would it be for a program to offer free shoes these days? lol that won’t even get you a phone call from these blue chips. Hell a challenger won’t even get you a croot nowadays

No. I'm saying Mullen to Florida a second time around. with NIL and transfer rule change he will ace it. That is why I said 2.0 would be his second time around to coach at Florida.

Matt Campbell? Unless you are bringing in Orgeron or bringing Urban back pickings are pretty slim.

He went from $4.5m to $8.3m after a single 1-loss season at IU. UF gonna give him $10-12m/yr?

IU would beat UF by 4 scores on a neutral field today. IU is the best team in the BigX. UF is a train wreck.

He will get that chance in the playoffs that he will be attending every year with IU's schedule.

If he keeps winning like he is winning at IU they will name the stadium after him. If he doesn't win 2-3 natties at UF he will be fired. Not a hard decision to make really. Why leave and have to deal with uga, tenner, ole miss, BAMA when you can play Rutgers, ucla, Maryland and Purdue every year?? For $1-1.5m more per year? Not worth the headache.
