I’m sure Billy Napier’s pitch to SS when he interviewed was that he was going to completely neglect Florida and put 100% of his attention on recruiting LA.

You bringing up Kelly's opponents while he was at ND, is the same as me bringing up Napier's opponents when he was at UL.

UL got boat-raced by Texas this past year, so that must mean that Napier will never win a P5 game a Florida. Sounds dumb as shite right?

Transitive properties don't work like that. Saban prior to LSU was an 8-4 coach at Mich St. He couldn't get the talent to compete with the Michigans and Ohio St.s. As soon as he did, he wins a title. There is nothing that would stop Kelly from doing that at LSU or Napier at Florida.

Yes, it is very possible that Kelly can win a national title at LSU and if history follows what it's done the past 20 years, he probably will win one.

Raymond recruited Florida well for LSU. We'll also be hiring Tosh Lupoi, so there's that

Could be. He was on my top 3 of who I wanted as HC.

Dumb that LSU never even talked to him.
[/quoteLSU AD did try to get Fisher and failed to get him. Then went after another experienced HC but never won a championship.

Good recruiters can recruit anywhere. It is about building genuine relationships. Men who possess the right character can do it anywhere.

Napier says, “I may get out-coached but I will never be out-recruited”

A little too early to know that for sure, but you could be right.

I think he is just trying to get the best coaches he can, then work from there. There isn't a whole lot he will be able to do with this class, but he has a year to form relationships in Florida for next years class.

I am not sold on the Raymond hire (Mainly because of what has happened to LSU's secondary last year and this year) but there is little doubt he is highly respected and can recruit. I'm not familiar with the other guys.
