Florida fricked up they will never get out of the mess they are in … to many elite teams to by pass . Just like Auburn it’s a revolving coaching door .

Well, to be fair,
1. UF plays Miami roughly once every four years nowadays. (They played every year until 1987.) He’s not the only AD to schedule a game against Miami,
2. UCF was supposed to be a Group of 5 team at the time the game was scheduled.
3. It was believed that UF would be playing in the weaker SEC East division at the time this schedule was made.

Don’t give up yet. He’s just about to turn the corner!

I would allow him to finish out the season no need in getting all your players upset and jumping to the portal.
Because that’s what will happen

If you fire a guy on week 3 after voicing absolute support for him 3 weeks prior... you aren't going to find anybody worth their salt to take that job.

Without commenting on what UF should do with Napier, I’ve two questions:
1) What, if anything, is still owed to former terminated UF coaches?
2) What would the university owe Napier if terminated?
I’m sure it’s a lot. It’s staggering how these universities act like it’s all just Monopoly money.

85% of his remaining contract, so $26 million.

Until this past Saturday, I thought Napier should get a complete 3rd year regardless, with his players and his system. It is clear now that he can't prepare his team well enough to compete against the schedule the SEC and the UF administration gave him. And the schedule is the same next season.
Now the problem is the UF administration. Billy had to fix many of the issues within the program behind the scenes so he wasn't a complete disaster. The Gators need to clean house. Stricklin isn't combatant enough to lead a top-level football program and hire a top-level coach.
With the changes in CFB, they need a new AD, hire a GM, let the GM make the hire and build the roster, and let the new coach develop the players and have his team prepare to play on Saturdays. The search should start with conversations with UF Alumni and NFL GMs, Ran Carthon in Indy, and Howie Roseman in Philly for advice on the hires.
The next problem becomes NIL. How do you pay 30 million plus in dead money to Mullen, Napier, and their assistants? Add what you need to pay a top-level coach and staff and player roster rebuild. Florida Victorious is doing well but the fundraising could dry up for them if their big donors are paying for the other stuff.
Just bringing Kiffin in is not the answer! He has never won anything at the top level. He's been fired more times than he has won big games.
If a move is made during the season it should come in the bye week after Mississippi State or Kentucky games.

Is Greg Schiano still available? I remember everyone telling us Vol fans we were an idiot not to want him. We got told by most on here how we missed out, maybe check with him at Rutgers & see if he's available.

His college resume is still pretty solid. Getting Rutgers to a bowl is a regular 9-11 win season at a big-time program.
But at 58 I think he's only going to have Rutgers and a very short NFL stint from here on out.

I think Golden has the basketball team going in the right direction and will make a nice run this year.

It would go to Mike Peterson.

The writing is on the wall for Napier. So might as well try to salvage what you can, knowing that there’s going to be a coaching change.
There’s not a ton of upside in firing him midseason.

I'm hearing some of the reporter types saying there is talk that as early as today they are going to ask Napier if he wants to coach the rest of the year or take the buyout and walk. And they are talking about bringing some GM type (this would come from an outside consulting group) to manage the store while they find a new coach. I think this is an awful idea. You can only have one guy in charge. The last thing UF needs is a bunch of outsiders.
If you remember the Miami game and the OL that gave zero effort after a Miami interception - no one put a boot in his arse. No one chewed him out. There was no accountability. The next game, Napier made him a captain. This guy needs to be shown the door immediately. The players have no respect for coaches that behave like that. Imagine if you brought in a GM and Napier was even more of a lame duck. He has to go, right now.
There are names out there that are available right now. Throw the bank at them and get Napier out of the building. If those names won't take the job permanently, let them be an interim like Stoops did for OU, and throw the bank at Lane after the season.
Napier is poison. He says he takes full ownership. Full ownership means resignation. All he wants to take is the buyout. That is all he has incentive for doing.
UF has a bunch of soft, manicured snobs in charge and they are all failures. They pretend to be Stanford mixed with a Fortune 500 company. It's a state school and it was run better when that was understood. None of this is complicated but UF is doing its best to make it that way.

I don’t count the meaningless bowl games that a handful of starters opt out on both sides.
