Traditionally Arkansas is much stronger and Ole Piss used to compete much higher than they have recently where Mississippi State has traditionally been the Vandy of the west.

An incoming new up and inspiring coach would have to see that beating LSU, Auburn and Alabama every year would be a Mount Everest climb, especially with a team that minus the Mullen years, has been traditionally a graveyard for success.

The absolute best thing State can do is hire a known name like Chizk that has been on TV, has name recognition and has presented himself as an extremely like able character that can help with recruiting and how the school is perceived from a national media standpoint. Gene would get positive press from the relationships he has fostered with the media at the SEC network. He likely has learned from past mistakes and would have more contacts for filling a staff.
Personally I would rather see State hire some new big shot from a small school that would be overwhelmed by the SEC coaching experience and fall flat on his arse just because I like beating your arse every September.

Can a wife be more “crazy” than Mullen’s? If “crazy” is the word you want to use.
It’s been reported that she is VERY friendly with players. Like Jimbo’s ex wife. Like 2-3 at a time “crazy”.

I think Leach would LOVE the challenge of playing Saban, Fisher, Gus, Lane every year. He’d thrive on it and end every press conference with “More cowbell!”

Tracker has a plane going to NC today. Do you think they are talking to Tim Brewster?

Be nice to your fellow State fans.

This has been a quick fall back to the bottom.

Things change and when they do, sometimes its permanent. Nebraska was a power house, doesnt mean they are going back to competing with Bama and Clemson. Time will tell if State stays at a permanent best of Mullen/Sherill years or goes bad.

I woudnt include Auburn with Bama and LSU though. Auburn is in a weird place of being below them but above State, Ark, Ole Miss (my opinion) in success. They can lose to State/Ole Miss and beat Bama the next week. Strange.

But I agree with the Gene comment, you are 100% correct.

If there ever was a bipolar school, it's Auburn.

I don't think Tim Brewster has any desire to be a HC.

SloMo Joe was, in hindsight, as bad a hire as Chadwick at Arky.

He inherited a team loaded with defensive talent and some decent skill players on the offense and proceeded to lose 5 games his first season. Then he totally mismanaged the Tutorgate suspensions, mishandled the QB position as badly as Chad did at Arky, and became bowl eligible only because of Elijah Moore’s juvenile antics. Follow that up with the Schrader/Gay situation and the bowl performance and its clear he was an absolute failure as an HC.

I seriously doubt firing him after just 2 years on the job will be a deterrent to any prospective HC who has watched this trainwreck happen in realtime.

That's a great post in a sea of trolls.

It won't. And coaches who paid attention to our/jomo's situation know the guy shite the bed. Hell, jomo HIMSELF knew he was shitting the bed in real time.

I realize we don't talk about real sports matters here, but I'm hearing that this "report" is total bullshite and in no way has he turned it down.

Regardless, we stopped the bleeding, and that's what matters. Like I said in another thread: The teams outside of the "Big 5" have to act as fast, faster, even, than the big 5; because a program's slide into the shitditch is a short, fast and easy one when they play in the best, most dominant conference and division that NCAAFB will ever see.

There's nothing wrong with firing a Chad Morris, Matt Luke, JoMo, when you know- you know- that the hull is leaking and the ship is sinking at an unprecedented rate. The lack of parity in NCAAFB, along with the unparalleled success of the SEC, means that in 2021, we have as little room for error as ever, and when the coach very obviously ain't it, then his arse has got to pound sand, aka, kick rocks, asap.

Good post. These dumbasses on here saying “dumpster fire”( and I realize 90% of the posts on here are trolls) have no idea that we stopped the dumpster fire which is where we were headed. Should we have made the move after the Egg Bowl? Hindsight says probably. The fight, skipping of bowl practices by players, and shitshow in the bowl made it clear we were definitely a dumpster fire. We had to stop it now, or we were headed to the point of no return. A Chizik or Hudspeth has to be, I mean has to be, better than the joke we had. If anything we adverted a major disaster. Everybody was saying we had to get rid of him and what are we doing keeping him, then when we do we are stupid.

All this Chizik, Butch Jones, etc bullshite is just that. All this is are a bunch of loser reporters trying to get clicks, as was the Napier deal. He hasn’t turned us down and is interested. I ain’t saying Napier will be our next coach, but he hasn’t turned us down. You’ll hear all kinds of dumb shite until the coach is hired.

Ah I know the perfect fit but doubt msu looks in that direction. Joe Judge and he is an MSU bull dog grad or Tony elliot. It makes too much sense to look in that direction so I think msu makes a different hire.

Am I the only one completely confused about what was so bad about Joe Moorhead that it warranted him being fired after two fricking years? No wonder any coaches worth a damn won’t touch this job with a ten foot pole.
