Before 2005, Ten had a streak on Florida. Tennessee and Florida went in opposite directions after that game

I got far more joy being in Jordan Hare in 2011. I remember the thumb and how horrible it was, but everyone knew it was coming in 2008. They fired Tony Franklin, Tubs was on the way out. So bad they took the heaters from the team on the road in West Virginia.

They almost got us in 2009. The Cam Back was 2010. To me, that created the "never again" mentality that allowed us to win 2011 and 2012 by a combined score of 91-14. Since 2010, Bama is 5-1 against Auburn. All five wins have been by double digits.

OP left off a massive statement game in LSU-UGA 2003.

We told everyone that we arrived

The SEC title game was more of a "statement" game than the one in BR.

I would argue this was a very insignificant game. Florida would go on to lose 3 of their next 6 games, and they still failed to win the East that year. Tennessee, while horrible all season long, went on to beat #4 LSU in Baton Rouge in their very next game.

The UT-UF game had no real bearing on either of these teams' seasons that year. Other than just being a game in which one of the two had to be the winner.

I still fail to see any statement

2014: LSU - 7 Auburn - 41.

Katy Perry actually pulled out corn-dogs on College Gameday on the prediction. If that isn't a statement, I don't know what is.

This is the answer, specifically the first half. After the Clemson game earlier that year, this was the game that truly made the SEC aware of the chainsaw butt fricking it would experience over the next decade.

I hate that the Dolphins signed Culpepper

I disagree. This game was huge and the nation wasn't really sold on LSU as a title contender. We had to win this one first against Pollack and company.

SEC Championship game was also huge though.

Side not, what a hell of a game. I'll never forget UGA fans shaking my hands on the way out saying the atmosphere was like nothing they had seen.

UGA-LSU 2003 is my favorite LSU football game that I have attended.

Obvious bias is obvious, but I think within the context the 2012 Vanderbilt win over UT was a pretty important statement. Yes, UT was in the midst of their worst 10 year stretch ever, and Vandy was well above our previous levels this side of WWII. However, in the 5 years including that game, Vandy has a 3-2 edge. Whether that change is permanent remains to be seen, but it's a MASSIVE change from the previous 30 or 40 years.

The games you provided are horrible

quote:

2001 LSU-27, Auburn-14 (Changing of the guard, Auburn had been superior prior to game. Old fashioned slugfest)

Changing of the guard? We went back and forth for the next decade...

quote:

2005 Florida-16, Tennessee-7 (sent programs in opposite directions)

That's what sent them in opposite directions?

quote:

2014 MSU-38, Auburn-23 (Proved MSU could reach a higher level of play and consistency, and ruined Gus Bus)

I mean I don't even know where to begin here

quote:

2015 Alabama-38, MSU-0 ( Proved SEC>B1G)

What? That's the game that did it? That was more towards the end of the SEC's flat out dominance.

2016 Ole Miss 45 - 14 UGA

Shows the West's dominance over the East on every level.

I would never say that about last years game.

2007: #5 Florida 59, #22 Tennessee 20

2008: #11 Florida 51, #4 LSU 21

2008: #5 Florida 49, #8 UGA 10

2008: #3 Florida 45, #23 FSU 15

2012: #10 Florida 14, #4 LSU 6

All those were much bigger statements.

Nope...Tennessee's big statement game was the 2001 SEC CG.
2001 LSU 31, Tennessee 20 (sent programs in opposite directions).

Changing of the guard? Yes, LSU gained such superiority by beating Auburn in 2001... yet somehow Auburn walloped them 31-7 the very next year. LSU won the SEC/National Title in 2003. But then Auburn won the SEC and went 13-0 in 2004. The 2001 game had zero statement and zero effect on the coming years. It was the game that decided the West in 2001. That is all.

quote:

2005 Florida-16, Tennessee-7 (sent programs in opposite directions)

This game had no effect on sending them in opposite directions. Tennessee had already begun to crumble... the slide began following the 2001 SEC Title game loss to LSU. Florida improved because they had Urban Meyer as a coach. This game really had nothing to do with it at all.

quote:

2008 Alabama-36, Auburn-0 (Showed who the best team in Alabama would be for the foreseeable future)

Ok. Then shouldn't you include the 2002 Iron Bowl on your list? I'd say that game showed who the best team in Alabama would be for the forseeable future, figuring it was the first of six straight Iron Bowl wins for Auburn.

quote:

2013 Missouri-41, Georgia-26 (Proved Tigers could compete in SEC as long as they get decent talent)

Uh. Ok. Georgia was a 5-loss team that year. Not sure this game meant anything other than the fact that the better team won. It's not like everyone thought Mizzou would come into the league and automatically be Vandy. If that were the case Mizzou would not have even been invited into the SEC.

quote:

2014 MSU-38, Auburn-23 (Proved MSU could reach a higher level of play and consistency, and ruined Gus Bus)

Nah. Didn't prove much of anything. MSU still failed to win the West that year. They didn't even win the Egg Bowl. And while the jury is still out on the "Gus Bus", they are picked by most prognosticators in this year's preseason Top 10 or 12... so it seems a bit premature to assume the Bus died that day in Starkville.

quote:

2015 Alabama-38, MSU-0 ( Proved SEC>B1G)

Pretty sure that had already been proven. At least in recent years. This game made zero statement other than that Bama was the best team in the country and MSU was the worst playoff team in the playoff era to date.

This entire post is just dumb.
