Last weekend notwithstanding, Aggie baseball is not enough for me to consider this time of year anything but “the offseason”.

And, my boy is stationed at Fort Gordon until May and drew Sunday Masters tickets.

These being the case…

What sporting event is your state most known for that is not an SEC event?

First time I drove by that place, I wondered how the heck they justified that for F1 in Texas.

Then I started watching the Netflix thing, and now I’m getting up on Sunday mornings to watch the races.

Now, I just listened to the Acquired podcast on Indian Premier League cricket and have started looking.

St. Jude Classic (part of the FedEX Cup playoffs)
NBA playoff games if the Grizzlies make it
Titans games
Bristol Nascar races?
Predators games?

That's all I got

Definitely some I’m forgetting.

We've got some top-notch county fair demo derbies throughout the great state of Missouri during the summer.

Certainly assume so. After that, in a non-all star game/title hosting/etc. year...?

Peach Bowl? I guess how we gauge it (attendance, economic impact, etc.) weighs in.

For something less orthodox - PRR? Obviously I think TV economic impacts are tacked on as a huge number to all star games and the like which would be missing here, but the direct spend for a "local" event has to be pretty high.
