It wasn't a banner season by any stretch of the imagination, but our 2011 team comes to mind. Lost to Boise State and South Carolina to start the season 0-2, and then won the last ten games to finish the regular season, including Vanderbilt 33-28, Kentucky 19-10, a bad Florida team 24-20, and a bad Tennessee team 20-12. The only semi-impressive win was 45-7 over (also mentioned fluky) Auburn team.

It was probably the weakest season the SEC East has had with Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Vandy having losing SEC records.

Georgia finished the season getting blown out by LSU 42-10 in the SECCG and losing to Michigan State in the bowl game.

Almost forgot 2007 LSU. Lost to 2 teams that finished the season unranked, including their final home game, and still luck into the national championship game.

Could've easily lost to Auburn, Bama, and Florida as well in 2007. Even the game at Oxford was closer than the score: Coach O's Rebs outgained us 466 total yards to 396, but they had four turnovers.

Yeah a lot of times that is the case - incoming player better than previous year’s starter. Only drawback in case like that is lack of game experience and recognizing different fronts/stunts on the fly. Just make sure they’re ready to roll come 12 SEP

2017 as a whole

LSU somehow gets blown out by Miss State and then loses to Troy. Then LSU beats Florida at the swamp 17-16 on a missed xp. Them LSU beats Auburn after being down 20-0 in the 2nd quarter. Then lose to Notre Dame on basically a fluke play in the bowl game.

Auburn loses to Clemson and LSU but then somehow beats Georgia and Alabama.

Georgia beats Notre Dame by one point and then gets blown out by Auburn. Then Georgia wins the rematch. They nearly lose to Oklahoma right after in the playoff.

So the Big 12 champ is knocked out. Meanwhile, Ohio State was 11-2 aftering winning the Big 10. USC wins the Pac-12 at 11-2. Neither make the playoff.

Bama has shite the bed against Auburn and doesn't win the West let alone the SEC. Yet they somehow find themselves in the in the playoff. They knock off Clemson who had previously beat Auburn who had beat Bama but lost to Georgia who had lost to Auburn who had lost to LSU who had lost to Troy. Also Alabama wins the game in overtime with a back up qb. Georgia the SEC champ doesn't win either. Mindboggling.

2007 LSU. You'll never see a SEC TEAM
LOSE 2 games in their conference again and get handed a Title trophy.

Yep. Miles should've been fired after losing to Arkansas at home with the BCS on the line. Any interim coach could've led the team to wins over shitty Tennessee and OSU

2019 LSU and it’s not even close. College football as whole hasn’t been down as much since 2007.

Yet no #1 team since 2007 and no team before 2007 has EVER beaten 5 of the other 7 teams that finished in the top 8.

2011 Auburn
Pretty good call. Had to score 2 TDs in the final 3 minutes in the opener vs Utah fricking State (who started a True FR at QB no less) and keep Keith Relf out of the endzone on the final play in game 2 to avoid defending our NC with an 0-2 hole to start the year. Somehow stumbled by SC and UF in the first half before being absolutely annihilated by our biggest SEC rivals.

2013 Auburn
This one I take issue with. Despite our obvious deficiencies in the secondary, this was a solid team with a ton of SR leadership on the offensive side, and a terrific ST squad (which let us down in the BCSCG due to some poorly timed injuries).

What was the year Bama beat the brakes off of Washington in the playoffs? The media had hyped Washington up (maybe to boost ratings)

I wanna say most if not all but 1 actually started multiple games last year because of injuries. so they may not be as inexperienced as everyone thinks.

But since college football as a whole was down, you should've been fine.

You are an absolute idiot.

Bama having its worst team since 2007 is a big reason college football as a whole was down.

By that token, LSU was down too if all of college football was.

Everyone down means a level playing field.
