Exactly. Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama have the people that grow up in that culture of rooting for the big-time colleges. Their states aren't growing like Tenn, Texas, Florida, Georgia, or even South Carolina. Pl;us most of those states have other major sports that are as/more popular than college football.

Notre Dame has the largest fanbase in the country without a doubt though.

Well, Louisiana has had the saints since 1967 and has had nba teams for alot of time as well. LSU is just unique in the regard that we are the only power 5 big-time NCAA program in the entire state. Our fanbase reaches into Texas and Mississippi, and along the gulf coast as well. You known that there are huge numbers of LSU fans in Houston and there are also alot in east Texas in general. That's bc of proximity and the oil industry more than anything else.

Arkansas has a lot of fans from Texas and the Dallas metro. They have some in Oklahoma, some in Missouri, quite a bit in Memphis, some in Mississippi and a little in northern Louisiana.

I see Mizzou fans are being slept on.

We are so passionate we post on this board despite the awful shite scented smell LSU posters leave here.

Lol, LSUs fanbase "dwarfed" by bama, uga, atm, and Florida? Man, you are a special kind of stupid.

LSUs fanbase is absolutely massive and isn't dwarfed by any other teams fanbase. Our fanbase is huge...and the most passionate in the country hands down. Ignorance abounds in this thread.

"Special kind of stupid" is rich for someone who thinks acknowledgement of simple math is an insult

But speaking of trashy wal-mart fans, I think we found one

I would think Lsu should be #1. There is nothing else in the entire state but them, Saints, & the Pelicans.

I mean if that’s the case shouldn’t it be one of the schools with nothing but the school?
Let’s look at SC, , the 2 in Alabama, the Mississippi’s and Arkansas?

Auburn is a small fan base numerically but they more than make up for that in passion alone. I’d say LSU, Bama, and Georgia are equally tied for first place. Florida, AU, Tennessee, and A&M are very close behind. Everyone else follows up from there and I’m only talking about football passion here. Obviously Kentucky leads our pack in basketball.

I think there’s a good chance Florida is the largest, it’s just a numbers game and Florida is the most popular school in a huge state. Every person in Alabama could be a Bama fan and that would only get you to 20% of Florida’s population.

I don’t think we’re the most passionate, but from the sheer numbers standpoint we’re probably the biggest.

I was driving through the middle of bumfrick Illinois a few weeks ago, stopped off in a town called Paw Paw with less than 1000 people in it. I pulled up to the one gas station in town and the dude next to me was rocking an LSU pullover, I was rocking my LSU hat. I thought he was wearing Vikings gear at first.

It’s Auburn. Almost all fans went to the school or have connections to the school. It’s a family. The rest of these schools are sidewalk alums.

Most of the diehards have passed on. We have a lot of causal fans that don't expect much and a lot of them are the younger fans who only know the Nutt years. 30 years of screwing around including double digit losing seasons will do that.

South Carolina fans are much more passionate.

I think "Passion" is something we'll see dwindle in the coming decades. I'm 41, but I think this younger generation isn't quite into it as previous ones. There's just so many forms of entertainment these days. College sports is just one of them.

Kentucky is easily in the Top 5. Youre out of your mind OP. Thats not bias..its fact. They dont call us the Big Blue Mist for nothing. Sorry but Auburn and Florida dont even come close to our fan base representation. Thats laughable.
