1A. LSU
1B. Bama
2. UGA
3. A&M
4. Tennessee
5. Auburn
6 Florida

then there’s a pretty big drop off

7. Arkansas
8. Carolina
9. State
10. Ole miss
11. Missouri
12. Vandy

I based these on my experience. It has nothing to do with the current state of each program. It’s just the passion and amount of gear I see while traveling. Georgia is very close to being 1C in my book.

I see more LSU and Bama gear throughout the country than any other program.

No Kentucky, eh? If this is all sports included, namely basketball, I would picture U.K. in the top 5.

Whoops. UK is probably right after Carolns in the same area as Arkansas. No way is UK up there with A&M or Tennessee overall.

Largest fanbase(s) will be TAMU/UF/UGA. Just a function of population.

ETA:

Largest to smallest guess:

TAMU
Uf
UGA

UT
MIZZOU
LSU

Bama
AU
USC

UK
Arky
Ole Miss
MSU

Vandy

I would put our twitter fanbase up against anyone for our size. We helped Peyton Hillis win a madden cover

We can be a bit fairweather at times but when we're good at something we definitely show up like few teams. We traveled like crazy for basketball in the 90's and Kendall Rogers said our showing for the college baseball NC game a few years ago was unlike anything he'd seen. Top 25 attendance in football, borderline top 10 in basketball and top 5 in baseball on average the last 5 years. Though football has gone drastically downhill because no one wants to watch 2-10 garbage.

You could interchange the big 6 easily. Add Arky and usc e too.

1-8
Big6 Plus usc e and Arky

9-10
Aggy
Ole miss
MSU

11-14
Kentucky
Vandy
Mizz

USC e stuck with their team and filled Williams Bryce through the awful years.

I really don’t know. Because of the football dynasty, I see more Bama gear than anyone else

La and AL are small states compared to the others in the top 6, so that's unlikely. Bama fans are the most passionate but that often veers into being unhinged, like assaulting other teams' fans and shooting their own fans for not being upset enough about a loss LINK

Are we talking largest or more passionate. I would put Auburn in the top 3 for passion. A lot are grads and love their University more than just football like Alabama.

Gear = fans, not passion. Bama has a lot of casual fans who don't know much about the school as a whole.

If that ranking is based on personal experience, I would suggest you get out more.

I will also add that you have USCe way too low. In fact, they should be #1. They have sold out Williams Bryce even when their team is terrible and there is no hope. That to me is the definition of loyal and passionate. When the big 6 fall on hard times, the stadiums empty out pretty quick.

Plus, you cannot judge Kentucky unless you include Basketball.

if you're going by overall number of fans per fanbase then I'd argue your list isn't correct.

LSU would trail multiple schools based off of Louisiana's small population. Even with most of LA pulling for LSU. UGA, Bama (Incredible national following since Saban), Florida would all have more than LSU. Potentially A&M and Tennessee as well.

Now passion is a different story.
