UNLV has the best shot at getting into the Pac 12. UConn is the only school that makes more money than them that isn't in a power conference.

Interdasting.

However, UNLV also gets more subsidy dollars than any school in any conference.

Looks like UNLV is about on par with Rutgers in terms of both subsidy and total expenses.

You cannot add OU without also adding OSU. Just ask Larry Scott. No way their legislature or governor allows one school to take a conference invite without assuring the future of the other as well.

Not to mention, unless DeLoss tells them to go fend for themselves, OU will stay tied to the horns as long as possible.

I don't get the love affair with OU. They've won 1 natty in 30+ years.

*2 natties in 30 years.

They must love hearing "Boomer Sooner" 8 million times in a 3 hour period.

Everyone in here talks about how Mizzou doesn't fit, yet you say Kansas would fit. It has no media market, a jayhawk is literally yankee (which is why MO fought them for 10 years, yet we still get called yankees), plus their football will never be decent again.

WTF is Kansas City then?

and don't say Mizzou get's the KC market because Kansas fans make up 75-85% of the city.

Vandy is a charter member of the SEC. They aren't going anywhere.

and no one, in the history of the conference has pocketed more money while contributing the least revenues than vandy. they would be crazy to move anywhere. not to count the revenues that nashville and nashville businesses receive by visiting SEC fans who are southern and want to hear country music and eat grits.

Expansion is far from finished. The SEC and Big Ten are about to get their TV deals readjusted for 14 teams. The Pac 12 is going to want to make a move at some point. That may be next year, that may be 5 years from now. When the Pac 12 decides to move, then it all starts over again like 2010
It is probably finished for the current members of the SEC, Big Ten, Pac-12, Big XII, and ACC until the middle of the next decade. Nobody is going to voluntarily leave the SEC, and the other conferences have grant of rights agreements that are going to keep their member schools tied to their respective conferences for the duration of those agreements.

The Pac-12 isn't going to incur the pain of going to 16 (it means some schools don't get to play in Southern California annually) for anything less than a four team combo that includes OU and Texas.

The Big XII won't expand because anyone they add wouldn't increase the pie enough for the current members to maintain their current revenue level (i.e., there are Big XII schools who aren't willing to take a paycut just to get the conference up to 12).

The SEC isn't interested in expanding unless it involves North Carolina. North Carolina wants to keep the ACC together, and apparently, so does UVA. With the exectution of an ACC grant of rights agreement, that will leave a further raid of the Big East as the Big Ten's only option for going beyond 14. Barring an invite of UConn and Cincy (or something like that), I think the big leagues will stand pat for a while.

If LSU fans don't like the arrangement, maybe LSU should get out of the conference. You would fit better in the Big 12. As for revenue, Alabama has contributed a hell of a lot more to the coffers than the Tigers.

Furthermore, if Vandy was not in the conference, the rest of the country would consider the SEC an academic joke. See you in Omaha.

With the ACC's GOR, conference realignment has effectively been put on hold for at least a decade. Thank god! I was sick of it.

Mizzou was a splendid addition to the conference. I'm glad we'll get to interact with them in the SEC East permanently. Bringing them in, along with Texas A&M, gives the SEC more academic clout. Including Vandy (who will never leave the SEC) and Florida, we now have four AAU schools with four more on the brink - UGA, LSU, Auburn and Bama.

That's eight. UK, USC, UT and Arky could be at that level in about 20 years. Only Ole Miss and Miss State have a lot of work to do - and Miss State has great plans for raising their academic profile.

The SECU will help all conference schools in the academic arena. There's every reason to think the SEC can begin to challenge the Big X in the research arena. Research grants are enormous and dwarfs athletic revenue.

You do know there's 2 different KC's, Smaller KCK, and bigger KCMO which the University of Missouri have over 14,000 students, UMKC. Doubt if their alums cheer for KU considering they are apart of the University of Missouri system, can use MU's library system in KCMO, STL, Columbia, etc.

And you do know most of the KC population is on the MISSOURI SIDE!!!! The reason people think it's a KU town is because Lawrence is 30miles away. Most KU fans live on the KANSAS side, not Missouri. If that's the case then KU would have easily gotten their license plates approved by their ALUMNI in the Missouri Legislature which was shot the frick down. I mean Kansas City is a KU town, so KU should have A LOT of pull on the West side of Missouri, WRONG!!!

And do you honestly think the BIG 12, or whoever gets a TV contract with KU in the conference gets the Kansas City MISSOURI population in their deal, think again! You get the population of the STATE, not border state, cities, etc, the STATE. But the Kansas side will get the SEC network considering all the major TV stations are on the MISSOURI side. Good marketing huh, yes the SEC expanded into Kansas without having a school in the damn state, they don't get the money from Kansas but they get people watching SEC schools!!! Yes Kansas City, St Joe, and Joplin TV stations go into sorry arse Kansas! Slive was smart huh, gets the SEC brand out in Big 12 country with out having to take KU or K-State. And the SEC invades Southern/Western Illinois without having to get a school from that state considering the main TV stations are in STL and Cape Girardeau, MO.

Kansas' population doesn't even hit 3 million, good look with getting money from Kansas. OU will get an invite before KU does considering the state of OKLAHOMA have over 3 million people!

LOL@ thinking the state of Kansas can count KCMO and the Missouri metro side in their lil population. Can't even get a damn license plate in our state, sure as hell not gonna get credit for our population in TV contracts. Oh thanks for moving over to "The Show Me State" and spending your tax dollars and money to support the Universities in Missouri. Keep on moving over here and paying property taxes.

Oh and on a side note, keep having your Big 12 basketball tournaments in MISSOURI, remember those tax dollars benefit our state and schools. Spend that BIG 12 Money in this state every March, dumb fricks
