Listen, man, these sec dudes don't know how good they got it. They play their schedules, they talk about who has more appliances on their front porch, who has a nicer trailer, and whether or not beastiality is a crime or is a sporting event! Not much for entertainment down south, I totally understand.

Every time the B10 faces an sec team in a Bowl game, it's played someplace tropical. They always have an advantage. F*** that! Even when a team like Auburn has the GUTS & comes up north (and I gave them credit last year), it's always played in the month of September.

So, my point is, after the new playoffs start, the sec will FUNDAMENTALLY change. Each loss will mean an sec team is that much closer to playing up north. They best get that bye week, too, because every stadium in the B10 is an open air stadium...and every year there will be multiple B10 teams in the Tournament.

You talk about exciting, let's talk about GA, AL, LSU, FL, TENN, whoever getting on an airplane down south in 75 degree weather and landing in 20 degree & cold & snowy & windy Ann Arbor or Columbus or Happy Valley or Madison or Minneapolis in the month of DECEMBER...well, the playing field will level out a bit, I promise!

Is this really all you have? November night games in the south are played in the 30s on a regular basis, not to mention snow in the north during the month of November is not as common as you people would like to think it is. The difference between the two conferences is the athletes, and the level of coaching conference wide. It has nothing to do with cold weather. Its like the guy with a rock hard 4 inches doesn't understand why he is constantly being dumped.

I also think a little self recognition is in store here. Where a lot of us live, specifically the Atlanta area, is so far advanced monetarily and technologically from Ohio/Michigan, its not even worth comparing anymore. The state of Ohio/Michigan outside of Columbus and Cincinnati is in full economic decay. Eastern Ohio is so trashy, it makes the small towns in the south look like retirement resorts. This stuff isn't even subjective at this point.

Why should Ohio State go south when southern teams do not want to play the return game? SEC teams only want neutral site games close to them.

Because that is where the highest amount of top recruits per capita is moron.

You can go on and on repeating yourself but Ohio State has a better case for making this season's CFP than Georgia had last season.

And yet Georgia destroyed the Michigan team that assraped Ohio State. So it looks like the committee just happens to understand this better then you.

It is humorous to hear someone from a shithole trash Ohio. Ohio built its own industries while the south was built on government aid and foreign investment. Most of the major industries are owned by China, Japan, or Russia. And your population gain you all love to talk about is mostly old people moving south for warmer climates or unskilled labor from south of the border.

We already recruit the south. Ohio State is a national brand that recruits the nation.

We will be playing more games in the future when the B1G adds some southern teams.

It will be a miracle if Pittman even has a job in that time span.

I love the Jackets.

Georgia will have its way with Michigan in LA

But sure, let Ohio State join so Georgia can claim the Big 10 Title after we're done wrecking Big Ten anus all CFP-long

No issues with this, that's his job.

I would not underestimate commissioner Warren. He gets things done.

He has absolutely nothing to do with the Pac 12 championship game. Maybe Warren can "get things done" by getting a part-time gig as a USC song girl and cheer on the Trojans Saturday?

That take is about as valid as B1G Commish Jim Delany's take in 2007... Before the SEC won a bajillion straight NCs...

Feb. 9, 2007
Greetings from the Big Ten Conference,
With the conclusion of another tremendous college football season and the recent national signing day, there has been a lot written and said about the Big Ten's recruiting efforts across the country, including a recent article in the Chicago Sun-Times entitled "Big Ten needs to find new talent pool - fast" (see full articlehere). In response to these commentaries, it seems premature for us to lower our admission standards or give up on the tremendous talent pool in the Midwest. No doubt national programs must recruit nationally wherever the talented students and athletes live. Hats off to Florida and the SEC -- they had a great year. We believe that both the Big Ten and the SEC have been and remain two of the greatest college football conferences in the country. But you may want to keep in mind the following as you review the various recruiting services, listen to talking heads and reflect the blogosphere out there as they compare these two fine conferences. I think most people would agree that head-to-head competition is an effective method to compare relative strengths between competitive entities:
• The Big Ten was 2-1 vs. the SEC in this past season's bowl games.
• The Big Ten is 8-6 vs. the SEC in bowl games over the last five years
• The Big Ten is 13-13 vs. the SEC in bowl games over the last decade.
• Over the last nine years of Bowl Championship Series games, the Big Ten leads all conferences with 15 berths while ranking second with eight victories. The SEC tops all leagues with nine wins and ranks second to the Big Ten with 13 appearances.
• In the last 10 years the Big Ten has produced two national champions compared to three for the SEC.
• In the last 15 years the Big Ten has produced five Heisman Trophy winners, more than any other conference. Over that same time span, the SEC has claimed one Heisman.
• While the SEC ranked first among various recruiting rankings, the Big Ten ranked second or third nationally with four to five programs rated among the top 25 recruiting classes.
• The Big Ten has a history of developing players - the most recent Heisman Trophy winner, Troy Smith, was one of the last players to receive a scholarship from Ohio State.
• The Big Ten has slightly less than 300 players in the NFL while the SEC has slightly more than 300; Sixteen former Big Ten players earned Super Bowl rings with the Indianapolis Colts earlier this month.
I love speed and the SEC has great speed, especially on the defensive line, but there are appropriate balances when mixing academics and athletics. Each school, as well as each conference, simply must do what fits their mission regardless of what a recruiting service recommends. I wish we had six teams among the top 10 recruiting classes every year, but winning our way requires some discipline and restraint with the recruitment process. Not every athlete fits athletically, academically or socially at every university. Fortunately, we have been able to balance our athletic and academic mission so that we can compete successfully and keep faith with our academic standards.
Let's see if the five- and 10-year trend lines hold or whether the recruiting services and talking heads are seeing a new day. We are quite proud of our history and tradition and remain optimistic about the future of Big Ten football.
Thanks.

The SEC recruits a ton of highly-ranked players but outside of Alabama and Georgia, most underperform. Texas A&M has great classes but look at the results. Same with LSU, Florida, Tennessee, etc.

The B1G has a much stricter admittance than the SEC. If you can wipe your own arse, you can enroll in an SEC school. The B1G puts academics before athletics.

TCU's most impressive win of the season was beating a worthless Oklahoma team 55-24.

Kansas State and Texas are their biggest wins and both of them are terrible. Would be bottom feeders along with Oklahoma in a real league.

Nice try, taking shots at OU and anecdotal comments about the B12 don't prove anything, the metrics did, and the metrics say you're full of shite.. But EVERYONE on here knows that. You got mud-holed in your own stadium by your biggest rival and now you are crying trying to be relevant.
