Franklin is a top ten coach, it's a mistake. You can do so much worse but it's hard to do much better

Florida and VT should call Franklin. Would substantially elevate the floor at both programs and get them facing the right direction if nothing else

I really don't agree with this. It has me wondering is there is more to the story.

They could do a lot worse. What makes them think that a new HC is all of the sudden going to have them winning national titles?

Norvells buyout is around $53 million.

Sun Belt Billy’s is $21 million.

Agents doin work.

Seriously when do schools stop agreeing to this? These numbers are ridiculous

Like every single program in history, at some point 9-3 / 10-2 every single year but never getting over the hump gets stale. Usually around year 10. And you convince yourself that you need a new coach to win it all otherwise you never will.

Only time that's ever really worked is UGA.

They’d probably turn around and hire Franklin

For think he’d do well at Auburn. Franklin as far as I know is a good man and sometimes the message and culture of a coach is more important to the program than recruiting and x and o or at least that’s my opinion. It’s why I hold out hope with DeBoer. He is such a starkly different character than Nick Saban was. They’re personalities could not be any different.

Was there more going on behind the scenes?

Seems like an out of pocket move.

Elko is from that area. I’d be legit worried about an opening at Penn State. Still, there are a few others. A&M is paying Elko squat right now

Elko is from that area and coached at Penn

Rhule is a Penn State alum and coached in the area

Cignetti is from Pennsylvania and has coached in the area

I'd be surprised if they aren't the leaders. This also seems pretty surprising, almost like they already know who they're going to get.

Good riddance. He's been there for what seems like forever, and never done anything of significance.
Penn St. expects to compete on the level with Ohio State and Michigan - both of whom recently won natties.
