We’re headed to the SEC. When? I don’t know. Legal issues to sort through.

Last ditch effort. It’s too late.

Kind of a pathetic look for the other Big 12 teams to be honest.

Very possible they did all this to try to get more money from Big 12.

I was thinking they pulled a Jimmy Sexton

I wouldn't be surprised if Texas try anything to their advantage in the SEC. No way they would just stop doing something like that all of a suddenly in the SEC.

Don’t want them anyway. I don’t like 16 teams for scheduling reasons and if we did add two more teams I think adding a North Carolina team and a Virginia team makes more sense

Of course it is. It's business. Frank Broyles did this 30 years ago. He knew then what the stragglers of the SWC and now B12 know now. It's not "our" job to stay. It's collectively important everyone understands what can happen when you stand alone. 30 years later, some old SWC teams are now fricked.

Yeah you got it man. The clear #1 program in basketball is scared of Texas basketball.

If this was any other conference, even the B1G, I would say.. ok maybe Texas is looking for leverage. Heck, I even thought about it when the news first came out.

At this point, it is my opinion that this deal is 100% done.

The SEC contains 2 of our top 3 historical rivals..
The SEC is the best football conference.
The SEC is the best baseball conference.
The SEC is what the Texas & OU fans want.
The SEC is not going anywhere..

It would be complete suicide to go through all of this and then to burn that bridge for a little extra money temporarily..

On top of that, this move clearly hurts A&M and there is not a chance in hell that they would let A&M take the bait, only to cut the line and let them swim away.

The vote is also done. Texas would not risk the black eye to get turned down by the SEC. If it goes to vote, the outcome is already known.

Literally there is a 0% chance that Texas or OU pulls the plug at this point.

Texas & OU are both all in.

Easy grasshopper, the programs have something to say about this. It’s not your show anymore.

Doesn’t matter if they keep them. We are inevitably headed toward mega conferences that probably break away from the NCAA.

OU and you have decided the Big 12 cannot be a viable competitor long term, and they are committed to leave one way or another. I don't know if the vote is done, but even a brain dead screwdriver can recognize that this is clear winner for you and the SEC. I think only the PTSD Aggies, who accuse you of selfishness, will act selfishly and vote against it.

I also think voting no is a clear loser, and not just because of opportunity cost. The best fit is clearly the SEC, but if turned down, you could create another monster at least the equal of the SEC if you joined the ACC. The state of TX would suddenly become a viable recruiting ground for other ACC teams. The increased prestige would help them defend their own grounds. The point is the SEC would lose their dominance and that is a clear loss.

Bottom line is that I think 13 of the 14 teams are smarter than a dead screwdriver.

Notice how this wasn’t a joint statement? The vote will happen and both will be members.

What are the legal issues from Oklahoma's end? For a long time I'd always heard that Oklahoma law required both the Sooners and the Cowboys to be in the same conference but I've heard this week that isn't true.

That was a legislative threat that never made it into actual legislation.

As far as the state legal battles I don’t think there will be any. OU is not tied to osu. I think the main thing is just this grant of rights and I’m hoping all these other schools find a landing spot so then it will make it a lot easier and I would imagine much cheaper to leave as it does no one any good playing in a league knowing you’re leaving. Just my opinion though.

OU ain’t going nowhere without daddy. They don’t have the aTm type relationship with them.

It all comes down to Texas/OU (or OU/Texas if you suck). There's not much the two schools won't do to keep that matchup intact.

Not sure who to call Daddy and the Bastard in the OU/UT relationship. OU has dominated the football series recently and especially since WWII. That's a long time ago for UT to think they own someone who has beaten them more.
