Colorado,Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Missouri. Most wanted away from Texas.
But I’m sure the big 12 wanted to shrink and replace with West Virginia and TCU. Lucrative TV I’m sure.

How many recruits did Richt lose today?

Right because OU and Texas owning the Dallas market isn’t a big deal. Small potatoes.

I'm aware of the details of the SWC history and the attendance issues (which was another television death knell) but none of that changes the fact that there was zero way the conference was going to survive as it was structured in the age of television rights.
You can blame them for pulling the plug on a doomed situation if it makes you feel better. I notice you don't place any blame on the poor participation of half of SWC's members. You mention that in a passive manner as if empty stadiums every Saturday for half of your league's programs is just a nothing-burger.
Right. So who destabilized the BIG XII conference again?

No they didn't. A&M wanted away from Texas because of the LHN, which they were initially a part of, when it was called the Lone Star network.
Colorado wanted to join the PAC because they think they're elite like people who live on the coasts because elite.
Missouri had already been kicking the tires looking for a more lucrative situation, just for the money.
Nebraska threw a shite-fit because the BIG XII conference game moved from frigid KC to Jerry World and Tom Ozborne shite his pants and ran off to the B1G.

Nice deflection on the fall of the B1G. They have more teams but still it is just Ohio State keeping them in the hunt, and that is compared to at least 6 SEC schools with a Natty in the fairly recent past.
Opinions are opinions but here are some nubers
78.57% = SEC (11 of 14 are bowling, 5 teams had 9+ wins)
78.57% = ACC (11 of 14 are bowling, 3 teams had 9+ wins)
70.00% = B12 (7 of 10 are bowling, 2 teams had 9+ wins)
64.29% = B1G (9 of 14 are bowling, 3 teams had 9+ wins)
58.33% = PAC (7 of 12 are bowling, 3 teams had 9+ wins)
These are the 9 bowls
12/26 6-6 Minnesota vs 7-5 Yellow Jackets (Detroit, MI)
12/27 7-5 Wisconsin vs 7-5 Miami (New York, NY)
12/28 6-6 Purdue vs 7-5 Auburn (Nashville, TN)
12/31 7-5 Michigan State vs 8-4 Oregon (Santa Clara, CA)
12/31 8-5 Northwestern vs 9-4 Utah (San Diego, CA)
01/01 8-4 Iowa vs 8-4 Mississippi State (Tampa, FL)
01/01 9-3 Penn State vs 9-3 Kentucky (Orlando, FL)
+
12/29 10-2 Michigan vs 9-3 Florida (Atlanta, GA)
01/01 12-1 Ohio Stae vs 10-3 Washington (Pasadena, CA)
4 of 9 will be against SEC schools (but you miss Alabama and Georgia)
3 of 9 will be against PAC schools
2 of 9 will be against ACC schools
0 of 9 will be against B12 schools
Big 6 bowls
4 = SEC (#1, #5, #10, #11)
2 = B12 (#4 and #15)
2 = B1G (#6 and #7)
1 = ACC (#2)
1 = PAC (#9)
1 = IND (#3)
1 = AAC (#8)

You can’t be that ignorant, can you?
Everyone left when everyone found found out the horns were lying about and plotting and planning to blow the big 12 up

Texas was super-secretly plotting to blow up the conference they had just joined and are still a member of?

Actually, according to the power brokers at Missouri, it wasn't just about making more money somewhere else. There was the fear that Texas and Oklahoma could bolt for another conference at any time, effectively destroying the Big 12.
Excellent article here.
They hated Dodds. And your boy Boren didn't look very good, either.

So they blew up the SWC just for the hell of it and then joined the BIG XII just to blow it up as well for the hell of it with a super-secret master plan. That's what you're trying to sell here.....and you're telling me I'm the one who's dumb?
Stop talking.

I'm aware of the excuse they gave. They had been flirting with the B1G before any of that ever went down and Colorado with the PAC. Their behavior was the first thing that led to conference instability, not Texas or OU.

Dumb, you’re as dumb as the dirt your trailer is parked on
Unless you’re just a sip trying to spin the facts
Little brother horn secretly talking to pac about leaving and getting caught drove every single schools subsequent decision.

Shut up conspiracy clown. You've already disgraced yourself with your wild-eyed claims of a "super-secret plot to blow up the BIG XII cuz explosions are cool" horseshite.

I don't know about "conference poison" but the old Southwest Conference was never going to survive the age of television having all of it's teams (sans Arkansas) located in the same state.
:kige:
I do think tho the B12 could have formed better with Arkansas than Baylor. Also, if you move from KC you can go south but Dallas was a bit too far south. Maybe Little Rock or Oklahoma City especially when 8 of the 12 schools were not in Texas.
B12 North
Kansas + Kansas State
Colorado + Nebraska
Missouri + iowa State
B12 South
Oklahoma + Oklahoma State
Arkansas + Texas Tech
Texas + Texas A&M
12 teams in 8 states with just 3 in TX, 7 are AAU schools
4 solid football + 4 solid basketball + several solid baseball

B1G and PAC in conjunction with each other. They could not break the SEC so they went after #2. the one happiest about all this is the ACC as they went from last place to #2.

I do too but they weren't available so it's a moot point.

The venue in Dallas is superior to freezing arse cold Arrowhead stadium. That's not even debatable. The crying and whining about that from Ozborne made me lose respect for a man and a program I had tremendous respect for. He was a child. He got red-assed about it and viewed it as a concentration of power in the South Division.
