Arky and Auburn are great trips. Really pretty campuses, great hosts and nice towns for dining purposes. Gainesville is trash. The local LEO will issue open container tickets to 60 year olds from the guest team but let locals act like asses. Bar scene used to be decent, but went downhill post purple porpoise. There is not one decent restaurant in the city. When we go , we literally drive to the game from Orlando and then drive back as soon as it ends to minimize time in Gainesville.

As a UGA grad I can't say I've spent a lot of time on the UF campus (went once to visit a friend YEARS ago) - so don't know. Auburn - no. There isn't much there - you have to go back to Georgia (Columbus) to find anything that resembles civilization. Fayetteville is the ticket! I spent a weekend there around 2000 and the campus was nice, the people great, and the scene was fun. North Arkansas was absolutely beautiful (was in the Fall).

Fayetteville is nice.

Gainesville is unrecognizable to me as someone who went to school there about a decade ago.

f you are looking for food options, Auburn has a great food scence.

The only game I've been to was the UGA-AU with Cam at the helm, so maybe I was just miserable, but I didn't see alot of food options. We did stay close to the stadium and were on foot the whole time. There was one cool 1960s era bar that we went to before the game. I figured we must have missed something ...

Yeah Auburn seemed extremely tame for a college town but then again every time I've been to Tuscaloosa it's like Xanax has been airdropped over town.

Auburn is not even recognizable from 2010. Its actually astonishing at how different downtown looks. High rises everywhere. A lot more to do but to me it seems like it is losing the small college town appeal

Fayetteville NC if you can get on Bragg is nice. Outside that it has few redeeming qualities.

Some of the best Thai food I've ever had was outside Fayetteville, NC.

Fayetteville 100%. Florida has a much more beautiful campus imo, but the nightlife on Dickson trumps Gainesville and Auburn.

Downtown Auburn has changed a lot since then. Lots of new options, dining, new downtown hotels and some more u/c. We even have a downtown public food hall with plenty of options now (opened recently). Many new mid-rises with ground floor businesses around campus and even some parts of campus look different now.

Built on football, this SEC stronghold is quickly becoming a culinary powerhouse.

That spirit of togetherness has allowed Auburn to triple its number of restaurants and add several chefs with local ties to the list of James Beard Award nominees and semifinalists. Yes, you will still find your fair share of chicken-tender joints, but you're just as likely to discover slow-simmered pho, Texas-style brisket, and hand-stuffed bao. With Auburn University debuting a multidisciplinary, world-class culinary school in the fall of 2022, no doubt the best is yet to come.

Fayetteville, the nice restaurants will be a lot less crowded because Arkansas fans are literally the highest percentage of welfare recipients in the country and can't afford them.

Fayetteville, but it’s hard to get there.

Auburn is easy and pleasant.

None of the above

Starkville may be plain but best fans to hang out with.

Just looking for the best restaurant options and a sportsbar

Fayetteville, hands down. Gainesville's kind of a dump and Auburn's a boring drive.

For local color, it's AQ Chicken Shack or Catfish Hole. They'll be very busy on a game weekend. Got to take in the scene on Dickson Street.

Drive is beautiful, especially 540 from Alma to Fayetteville. Really is something of an engineering marvel.

I viewed the menu the culinary students are pumping out this semester - high class cuisine and it sounds delicious.

Easily the worst "college town" I've ever been to. Not even a contest.

Not that I'd ever have choosen to work in the culinary field (it's grueling) but I think it would be really interesting and a challenging curriculum.
