Atlanta gave us Ahmad Batman Carroll.
For this, I am forever grateful.

Do you UNDERSTAND THIS???
NATIONAL TITLES
Arkansas: 1
Ga Tech: 0
FINAL FOURS
Arkansas: 6
Ga Tech: 2
CONFERENCE TITLES
Arkansas: 31
Ga Tech: 7
ELITE EIGHT
Arkansas: 10
Ga Tech: 4
SWEET SIXTEEN
Arkansas: 10
Ga Tech: 7
TOURNEY INVITES
Arkansas: 30
Ga Tech: 16
TOURNEY WINS
Arkansas: 40
Ga Tech: 23
Now, just going on history of course it seems as though Arkansas has brought in more talent than Georgia Tech.
I mean, maybe I am off base by saying that. I do not think so though.

Well, since you say it like that. Arkansas.

Dude, you realize for some of those stats your jumping back to the 40's??? As has been mentioned, recruits dont give one flying shite what a school did in the 40s. No kid from southwest atlanta is going to be like "man, im going to GT. They ran a train back in the 40s". Kids look at programs in 10 year spectrums, if that.

You do realize that location isn't everything, right? Especially in basketball?

I assume this is in reference to basketball. IF so, the answer is Tech and it is not close.
Tech plays in the ACC which is a much better basketball conference top to bottom. They have a better brand name, more money, a new arena going up, Atlanta recruiting and marketing to back the program as well.
If you are talking about football, it is a wash. Tech has a ton more history but it is becoming more distant. The conference is not as good, obviously. The stadiums are about the same...small. Arky has SEC fans so the atmosphere is better for them but Tech has 4 National titles, more ACC and SEC titles than Arky has...and Arky has not really done much since leaving the SWC.
And Tech does everyting it does in sports with much, much, much higher academic standards than Arkansas.

I think Arkansas is a better job than GT because of fan support but not by as much as some posters are making it out to be.
The location certainly isn't everything but smaller universities like GT with urban campuses are a lot more suited to building consistent top 20 basketball programs than football programs especially if they're in a good basketball conference (which the ACC used to be -- what happened?).

Skipped most of this so pardon if germans.
If Georgia Tech was still in the SEC, then the answer would be GT. Since they are not, then I say Arkansas is, on the sole basis of the conference its in.
