Does it matter? John Madden couldn't coach successfully at that shite hole of a school.

Ed O for sure right now. When he got to Ole Miss the cupboard was bare thanks to Cutcliffes non recruiting. I wanted to keep him one more year as he was finally getting some talent built. Houston fircknut used that talent to look great but then he again Cutcliffed the program. Luke had 10-15 times the talent than Ed O did so verifiable comparisons are completely wrong. Apples and oranges. Knowing its apples and oranges I would say its Ed O even then! We will see how Luke recruits and that will be my yardstick for a later analysis of this.

You never know what this coach can do at Arkansas. He is not a for sure winner and it is up in the air if he will be there after 3 or 4 years. Same thing for Odom. He is progressing and if MIZZOU can beat Texas in the bowl and score 45 or more points then MIZZOU shall be ok for next year after losing OC.

but he didn't die or leave the coaching profession after that did he? his record at ole miss is just as much an indictment against ole miss as him. and, he left the cupboard stocked.

matt luke is a nice guy and I don't blame him for taking the HC dollars. it is his last gig as HC so making bank is big for him. he's losing his team to transfers this year and will really suck at recruiting for the next 2 or 3 years so you figure out his future. meanwhile, Orgeron will probably win 10 games this year and his recruiting is top 10 at worst. while his future of winning titles is uncertain, he will almost be guaranteed to be in the top 5 in the SEC and probably higher most years.

This. I've always thought Bielema was a good coach who made a huge career miscalculation by choosing to leave Wisconsin to become head coach at Arkansas. Unless a coach is a wiz, like Bobby Petrino, who out of pure luck lands a blue-chip quarterback transfer who happens to be from northeast Texas, he is destined to fail.

Chad Morris is certainly no Petrino, and I don't think he's even on par with Bielema. Bielema was the head coach in two Rose Bowls. What did Chad Morris ever do?

How can we forget....He lost to Troy

At least Troy is a 10-win program that made a bowl game and received 11 votes in the final coaches poll.

Saban lost to a 7-win UAB team and a 6-win ULM team - neither of which went to a bowl game. Try not to forget that.

This is not a good year to judge either coach. Other than the Auburn game win Orgeron beat almost every team he should have. Let's face it the sec was extremely top heavy. After you got past the top three or four in the sec west it was terrible and outside of the top 2 in the east it was terrible.

More like Coach O has the SECr rustled. Half the conference hired new coaches, and everyone is still obsessed with Ed Orgeron.
