true story. Feels dirty and tainted. Perhaps dirtier still is that you guys can beat LSU this weekend and it doesn't change the "best win"... weird world we're living in right now.

The sarcasm went over your head. Oh well. To answer your question truthfully I'd say MSU.

That means they shouldn’t be ranked, then.

No it doesn't. It means they shouldn't be ranked in the top 10. You do understand how this works, right? The higher ranked team should beat the lower ranked teams?
They were beaten by higher ranked teams. That doesn't mean they should not be in the top 25.

The same can be said for FSU, WVU, UL, Utah, etc.

Well, considering Louisville got beat by the #24 team it does indicate they might not belong in the top 25, does it not? FSU has been beaten 3 times. That might explain why they are not in the top 25. But, they might be in the top 25 at seasons end. They lost their QB, though, and that could explain part of their losses, don't you think? West Virginia is another team that MIGHT prove they belong in the top 25, which is why you either go by rankings at the time, or rankings at the end of the season.

Shoot, we could have this conversation next week and none of your teams you beat could be ranked. Does that mean Clemson is not good?

Losing to good teams doesn’t mean you’re good too.

It depends on how many you lose and how badly you lose to them, doesn't it? I'm pretty sure that is the way the pollsters will look at it.

If you lose to a highly ranked team in the first game of the season, you won't drop nearly as far in the rankings than if you lost really ugly in the 5th or 6th week of the season.

I mean...why is a 5-1 Ohio State ranked higher than a 4-0 Miami? Because they got beat by another highly ranked team. It's not that difficult.
Why is a 5-0 Navy ranked #25 and a 5-1 Ohio State ranked #9?

What is Auburn's best win MSU?
Probably but a few point loss to Clemson still looks like the best game played by an SEC team so far.

Yes, Auburns game against Clemson was the best game played by a team so far.

Yes and no. 11 sacks has to be alarming. I wouldn't call that a good game. The fact you gave up 11 sacks and only lost by 11 is unbelievable, though. Not a knock on Auburn...it's a testament to your defense.

Clemson V AU game was not as close as the score. Clemson played it close on offense since it knew they simply had to play mistake free since AU wasn't going to score on any long drives

Best win is UGA over ND, albeit on a neutral field.

You're arguing in circles.
The only reason Miss St was ranked is because they beat another ranked team. Neither of them were very good, and that's been born out by results.
Ohio St has played one ranked team and gotten clobbered. They're highly ranked on pre-season expectations and name brand. Not resume.
Clemson has played three teams ranked at the time of play, and two of the three are still top 15. None of us might be any good, but how teams play other ranked teams (those teams considered 'good'), is the best way to sort it out.
A loss is a loss. You've been a Georgia fan too long, celebrating moral victories. Georgia has a great win at ND, but don't try to play off the Miss St and UT wins as something they aren't. They aren't very good, and they're going to lose plenty more games this season.

You are correct. Clemson had a total of 70 yards of total Offense with 2 min left in the first half. AU had the ball two times inside the 5 yard line in the first quarter. If there is ever a rematch, I like our chances this time.

Clemson had two drives all night.

To be fair, that victory was before Billy Jean Nomygirl was hurt and they were good.

I forgot they were ranked #3 after the big Scarlet vs Gold Game victory.

Mizzou over Missouri State was huge for conference perception.

I’m not the one bragging about our shitty conference. That would be you.

I said Clemson has as many Top 25 wins as your entire conference. That’s not debatable, so I don’t see why everyone is crying. The SEC will sort itself out, like it has been doing, and Alabama will be the one really good team. Next year the SEC should be the hands down best conference. Some good things happening.

Both conferences are pretty crappy with a couple of tough teams and a bunch of USCe’s and Syracuses.
