All these cities you listed are further than 45 minutes from Starkville. Your point?

Well for one, Baton Rouge doesn't have a million people in the metro area. It's more like 800k. The metro area that includes 800k people includes places more than 45 minutes away. That includes 9 parishes. This is a map of the defined metro area in Baton Rouge. Notice how it extends all the way to Mississippi

The Knoxville metro area has 850k people, the Lexington over 500K, Gainesville 300k, College Station 250k, Tuscaloosa is part of the Birmingham metro area which has 1.1 million people, and so on.

We also didn't have to get a grocery store to sponsor it.

If Templeton was still around it would be called Piggly Wiggly Field.

SEC
1. LSU (8) - 11,221
2. Mississippi (7) - 8,172
3. Arkansas (3) - 7,735
4. South Carolina (9) - 6,587

State had 8,000 in 2017 in the old stadium and will easily move up to #2 in 2019. MSU has sold a lot more season tickets for the new stadium including selling out all the chairbacks. Plus the outfield lounges are sold out.

We could have/should have built another couple chairback sections, although they would only be full for SEC Saturdays. There is something to be said for making a stadium "a tough ticket". If nothing else, more season tickets are sold to ensure a place to sit.

There is a LOT of standing room available in the new stadium. If State were to win enough to have several over-capacity SEC weekends we might even approach LSU's attendance.

Nice stadium! I've never visited any other college ball park besides Auburn's. Would be awesome to visit others for a game but I doubt I ever will.

LSU = Land Grant Institution
Louisiana = 2 spots behind Mississippi on % of beef producing cattle in the US.

Carry on.

It really isn’t a comparison. Tech by far has the best stadium because of the views alone.

If you’re casting a wide net for the metro area in BR may as well count Tupelo, Meridian, and Jackson for Starkville

You realize all of those cities are over an hour from Starkville and very few 30-55 year old fans/alums drive to Starkville for a midweek game bc of the length of the drive back home and then work the next day.

Tupelo is the closest at 70 miles
Meridian is 90 miles
Jackson 120 a solid 2 hour drive from Starkville say the game ends at 9:30 you and your family aren't getting home until 11:30 and if you have school aged kids thats rough.

There are JUCOs in Mississippi with better stadiums than that.

uK’s new park look sterile I don’t love the design. I don’t love all the foul territory. I don’t love the stone seating.

State’s New park is hands down the best. I can’t wait to go visit it.

The SEC in general is the best for CBB. If you compared the top 12 SEC parks with the top 12 non SEC parks then the SEC would run away with it.

I was lazy. Ended up having Andrews work on my elbow. I didn't put the work in on rehab. I only ended up with a NAIA offer.

It really is, they didn't cut any corners.

One day LSU will drag those bleachers in left to the curb.
