UT was pretty good as well in '01 (beat UF)

They did, but Florida played that game without Earnest Graham. As a result, they had no balance on offense and Tennessee's DL was able to tee off on Grossman. When 2001 Florida had all of their weapons, they were the best offense in SEC history, IMO. Spurrier has a reputation for being pass happy but his best teams had very good running games.

Uh, what?

Our run defense was absolutely elite and our kickoff coverage that year was the best it’s ever been.

Did you even watch that team play?

Read dumbass. I said they were both good. WE did get a KO ran back on us so I was throwing that in

Considering I was at almost every single game we played that year, I would say Yes. I watched that team play

I like the 2004 team better and I would have loved to see cam newton vs that 04 Auburn defense.

No team (with a loss) is ever considered to be the "best of all time" in any sport.

Unless your team was undefeated, please remove them from the list.

Also, if your undefeated team only played 1-2 teams with a winning record (looking at you georgia in 1980 and Auburn in 1993), please remove them from the list.

Not including Oklahoma (to make it fair), what is the dumbest state in America?

I’m still confused as to why 2011 Bama is so highly thought of.

Every time I say this I get heavily downvoted by LSU and Bama fans.

The 2011 Bama team played one top 30 offense in Arkansas and the 2nd best was MSU at 84th. They also played a number of teams under 100. They don’t deserve to be called one of the greatest ever for beating up shitty teams. Also the offense was decent but not great.

The 2012 Bama team played far far better offenses and still were the top ranked defense in the country. They also had the best OL in the country, two 1K rushers, Amari Cooper, and a much better McTat at QB.

Who ran back a KO against 2010 Auburn?

100% agree.

2012 Bama >> 2011 Bama

2011 Bama just had the fortune of playing Jordan Jefferson for a national title and no Cam Newton to worry about.

Ah, so a kickoff return by Chattanooga up 34-0 with 2nd and 3rd string special teamers in a completely nothing game means our KO coverage was shitty?

We gave up less than 20 yards per return all season.

Our KO coverage unit was phenomenal that year.

2010 Alabama nearly beat Cam Newton; I think 2011 would have a pretty good shot at it.

Yeah, Julio Jones, Mark Ingram, Marcel Dareus, and GMac were pretty good players as veterans.

How many snaps were they getting for you guys in 2011?

I seriously don’t see how 2011 Bama scores more than 7-10 points on 2010 Auburn. Trent ain’t running all over that D and a sophomore McCarron ain’t outdueling the GOAT with fricking Marquis Maze as his #1 WR.
