Not including Alabama for the sake of this thread. There could be a lot of choices. As a conference outsider, based on what I have seen or have read about, here’s my top 10:
1. Florida (1996)
2. LSU (2011)
3. Georgia (1980)
4. Florida (1995)
5. LSU (2003)
6. Tennessee (1998)
7. Auburn (2004)
8. Florida (2008)
9. Georgia (2002)
10. Auburn (1983)
1. Florida (1996)
2. LSU (2011)
3. Georgia (1980)
4. Florida (1995)
5. LSU (2003)
6. Tennessee (1998)
7. Auburn (2004)
8. Florida (2008)
9. Georgia (2002)
10. Auburn (1983)

I knew I’d make someone sensitive. Alabama is the flagship, and several of their teams would make the list. Since Alabama would dominate any list, I simply did not include them in this topic. It’s nothing against Alabama. It’s a simple thread. Relax child.

I will only list those that have happened during my lifetime as there are several teams before I was born that were very good
UGA 2012
LSU 2011
UF 2009
UF 1996
AU 1983
UT 1998

List is bad. It is ridiculous to exclude Alabama.
Only two of the top 6 teams on the list are even contenders for a top 10 spot. 1980 UGA is not even in the top 25 if you include Arky and AtM. Its doubtful they were even the best team in 1980 though their title is legit.
2011 Bama, 2012 Bama, 2004 AU, 2008 Florida, 1983 AU, 1996 Florida have legit arguements for top 10 and maybe 2011 LSU though they were humiliated when it counted.
This is biased toward recent history as it is hard to judge older teams and the SEC was just not that good as a whole until the 80s.
Eta: 2010 AU because of Cam and undefeated maybe top 10, but 2004 AU would beat 2010 AU and 1983 AU is more deserving of a spot than any other 1 loss SEC team due to playing the 2nd or 3rd most difficult schedule in the history of college football and ending 11-1.

This isn't reflected by elite W-L season outcomes but 2012 Texas A&M and 2006 LSU are 2 of the best non-Alabama single-season teams I've ever seen, you being an OU fan I'm sure you recall your football team's immense victimization by A&M in the Cotton Bowl

You could definitely argue this team, stacked on both sides of the ball that Run N Gun offense, that Bob Stoops-led defense, the way they avenged their only L (close L) to rival FSU in the natty, about as prolific and exciting a team one'll ever see

Agree. 2009 Florida only lost by 19 in the SECCG which made them 1-1 against ranked teams not named Cincinnati.
They should be right behind 1987 Auburn which played 6 ranked teams, 4 top 10 teams and also only had 1 loss.

Which team was better: 2004 or 2010?

"Of all time" doesn't mean since 1980.
Let's see who can name these two teams you left off, that are regarding as two of the best teams in college football history:
1. One team allowed only two offensive TD's the entire season, and outscored their opponents 329-21. This team won the Sugar Bowl that year.
2. Another team that outscored their opponents 297-25 just a couple years after the school mentioned above. This team also won the Sugar Bowl that year.
Who can name those two teams?

Stats and eyeball tests says 2004 but I refuse to believe that 2010 team would ever lose
Magic and shite. Unbeatable

Tbh, the one real weakness on that 2010 Auburn team was the secondary. They were really bad in that area, but stout and experienced just about everywhere else despite the common perception that it was a one/two man team.
2004 was probably more talented across the board and had the more dominant defense. Two completely different teams... I don't know which I'd say was better.

Yea, it was very bad
Run defense was pretty good though. Special teams were solid except one kick off return
A lot of people give that 2010 team shite but it played in the best SEC W we have seen and went undefeated. Regardless of how the games were won. Lots of big road wins and blew out the SEC Championship game.
