In 2019 LSU’s opponents feasted on cupcakes. That wasn’t an option in 2020

Exactly. Instead, Bama feasted on extra bye weeks and teams depleted by opt outs.

I bet if you count up all the conference games, there will be just as many losses as wins! Down year.

2021 CFB is coming. Let's just move on

Well, we know we have another shot at a championship next year.

LSU on the other hand will have to hold on to muh 2019 for quite sometime.

I bet if you count up all of the actual national titles and all of the fake national titles in your signature quote, there will be just as many real titles as fake titles!

I'm over here looking like I wish I could argue the thin line of being the best ever..................

It’s just not that thin.

2020 bama was a great team. Dominant even.

Still doesn’t hold a candle to what LSU did in 2019 in a non-furlough-fully rostered year.

It’s that simple.

To whom? Louisville who we've beaten 56-10 and 45-13 in 2018 and 2019? Not to mention we, unlike some others actually played a bowl game and beat a ranked OOC team for the third year in a row.

Is it though?

It may just be that I represent an older perspective.

There have been many dominant teams from different eras.

My list would not be limited to 2019 and 2020.

^likes to pretend Alabama didn't also have to deal with the extra hardships of covid, just it's opponents.

Hell, Saban missed a week of practice due to a false positive, then missed a week of practice and a game due to a true positive.

Not to mention a schedule that was 100% P5 teams, including the best 11 SEC opponents and 2 other top5 OOC opponents.

Meh,
What you saw was LSU have the best season of all time.
National talking heads agreed.
But you saw a contingent of jealous Alabama POSTERS (note, not fanbase )link pre-2019 articles arguing their point FOR Miami and Nebraska. Both in the conversation for top teams.

But anything to not acknowledge an SEC W team taking that moniker urged the following:

Bama posters flooding an LSU/SEC Message board about their excellent season that they wanted to be compared to LSUs season just one year before.

There was no way they would allow LSU to keep that moniker if it was up to them....and it’s not. But they feel that any season, asterisk or not, where they are really really good, is enough for them to claim a moniker that THEY FEEL is rightfully theirs. They felt this way before 2019.

95 Nebraska is the GOAT still. Alabama came close to doing better, but the Florida game threw it out the window IMO.

But 2020 Alabama > 2019 LSU using the measuring sticks LSU fans defined for what made them the "GOAT".

Yes with several fcs or crappy FBs teams to inflate their records. 2020 Alabama surpassed 2019 LSU offensive records, award records and all with no fcs teams and two less games to boot. It sucks for LSU fans but it is what it is. If y’all weren’t afraid it was true y’all wouldn’t still be making threads about it.

Whatever LSU does, Bama just does it better.

It really is pure jealously. They can’t sit here and deny it all they want. And it makes no sense whatsoever since Alabama is the much better program.

LSU’s greatest season in school history consisted of a loaded schedule, packed houses/road atmospheres with high stakes, unprecedented play from a Heisman-winning quarterback who made several amazing plays, packed Tiger Stadium at night, an undressing in a playoff game with 42 points scored in a half, and concluded in a packed Super Dome in LSU’s own backyard with a sitting President of the United States in attendance against a team on a 29-game win streak. Most of us fans attended these games and have memories that’ll last a lifetime

Alabama’s greatest season in school history consisted of a crazy efficient offense in a season where multiple programs played partial seasons, a plethora of opt-outs by elite NFL talent, depleted rosters, empty stadiums without fans or atmospheres, and concluded with a beat down of Notre Dame (who wouldn’t haven even been their opponent had Lawrence not been forced to sit out the first game due to contact tracing) and a national championship opponent who played a whopping 7-game partial season from a conference that started played football Halloween weekend. Most of the Alabama fans did not/could not attend a single game in BDS during their storybook season. Most sat their fatasses on the SECr and had 2019 LSU’s stats pulled up on their phone waiting eagerly for a record to be matched.

That’s what it all boils down too. There’s a reason while there were dozens on them on this board during their NCG constantly seeking validation that they needed to be compared to 2019 LSU. Not 2001 Miami. Not 1995 Nebraska. 2019 LSU. THAT’s who set the bar. THAT is what they wanted everyone to think they were better than. That’s the team that still lives in their head rent-free.
