While I think UGA is the best... that’s biased...
in reality....
Ralphie (Colorado) has got to be the best Nationally.
In the SEC I would have to give the edge to Mike (LSU) I mean he is a tiger for gods sake.
Lassie and the hound dog are just whatever.. The Eagles are cool when flying they are still just birds. Bevo is just a cow... and Renegade and Traveler, they are horses, Texas Tech has one too. So what?
The cool thing about UGA to me is that he’s not the schools, he’s a family pet not loaned to the school but brought to the games in game day.... the same can be said about Dubs at Washington

They tried it at the Monterey Bay Aquarium briefly, but the GWS didn't like the captive environment and it had to be released back into the wild ocean...…..

I hate LSU, but Mike is the best live mascot in sports, period. Come on - a freaking live tiger is just badass.

I think North Alabama has one of the coolest mascot traditions in CFB since the 1970s, with the enclosure located in the center of campus for easy viewing. They are now up to Leo III.
Leo I
Leo II
I did my undergrad at UNA. Leo II would roar on the hour just before the clock would chime near his enclosure, which created and extraordinary cue to wrap up classes.

The new mascots are a male/female buddy team in an very nice, updated enclosure.

I dunno if it counts as a live mascot but the Seminole riding out on the Appaloosa and stabbing that flaming spear in the field is pretty frickin’ sick if you ask me so I’ll go with that. Ralphie is cool too, not often you see a honest-to-god buffalo anymore. What we should do at Carolina is have a damn cockfight while 2001 is going on and whoever picks the winner gets FREE LITTLE CAESARS

Bama used to have Alamite the Elephant housed on campus in the 40s, but it was too costly (and I imagine his "habitat" was probably less than ideal by today's standards). So, it didn't last very long, and they switched periodically to circus elephants coming in for homecoming. Given the financial situation they have now, it would be pretty cool to build a really nice enclosure and bring in a pair of live elephants. But, I could do without reviving the homecoming rides and, please God, find a better name than Alamite.

Ok live lions are pretty cool too. I didn’t even realize there was a live lion mascot. They do get points off for calling it Leo though, that’s very unimaginative.
