"The south end project is conceptual at this point..."
I'll believe it when I see it for tu. They've sell their tickets for the most part of butts in seats is probably closer to 80 most games, not 100.

All I'd seen was a 3d mockup someone posted on texags awhile back.
I don't keep up with happenings on the 40 acres nearly as much as I used to.

Our stadium is pretty great as it is, but it's embarrassing we don't have a place to practice when it rains (which it does all the time in Athens).
May as well give up on this. McGarity is vehemently opposed to it and they just dropped money on completely redoing the practice fields with nice stone walls, towers, landscaping, etc. It actually looks really nice. Personally, I'd rather them pour money into making the concourses and appearance of Sanford top notch and improving Foley and Stegman (which, holy shite, either needs to be bulldozed or someone needs to bring its interior into the twenty first century).

We don't have one either. Foley would rather spend (or should I say waste) money on a damn women's lacrosse stadium.

You're kidding me. We can barely get our AD to spring for renovating our practice fields. Hell, with all the money we have in the bank we still made boosters raise the $10 mill to give Foley a badly needed facelift this offseason. Stegman got some pretty glass panels put on a few years back but it's still an embarassment inside. Wanna trade? I'll accept frivolous spending over sitting tight lipped on a stack of cash

While I agree with you on Stegeman, they aren't going to do anything about that anytime soon.
In regard to football facilities, I'd rather they put the money into something that could help improve the product on the field. An IPF does that. The concourses can wait.

Nope. It's nice too.

I didn't know Florida had enough interest for Lacrosse to have crowd sizes like that. 1,000+? Impressive.

Rumor is that LSU will be adding a lacrosse team, probably women's, in the near future. And if they can ever get a certain fraternity to relocate, they will build a boathouse on University Lake.

I'd rather see money spent on an IPF, too. But that's virtually out of the question at this point. For all the times it has been brought up, it has been shot down with a vengeance each time. We'd may as well make peace with the 25 yard multi purpose room we have and move on.

This. Not having an IPF hurts recruiting and the product we put out on the field. The better we are the more money we will make and the further we can renovate Sanford, Stegeman, and Foley in the future. McGarity is cheap, but hopefully he will see the light soon that if you have money, you should probably spend it.

I think it's more advantageous to start spending now on things that McGarity and the board will sign off on then wait around for their stingy, stubborn selves to come around to doing what everyone else has done. I'm willing to bet if Florida ever does it, McGarity will follow Foley's lead.

I thought space, or lack of same, was one of the main issues with expansion of athletic facilities at UGA. I know UGA athletics has a lot of money and has always been very profitable.
But the amount of money spent on athletic facilities at other SEC schools is much, much larger than at UGA. It's one thing to be out-spent by schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, and LSU. But UGA is spending less on facility upgrades than UK and Mizzou are currently spending.
That's got to both outrageous and frustrating to UGA fans. Granted, in some sports UGA is far ahead and doesn't need to spend anything. But that lead is disappearing and UGA is falling further behind in areas it was already behind in.
Time to start an email drive similar to what the Aggie fans did to get into the SEC, IMHO. There's is simply no excuse for UGA to not have top-notch facilities in every sport.
No flame intended, just my two cents...

No, you're dead on. And it has been a consistent source of frustration for UGA fans ever since Damon Evans was ousted from the AD position (it probably didn't help that before Evans was sent packing for Pnatygate, an Athletics master plan was released that detailed renovations and new facilities for nearly every program. To date, only the Stegman facelift, Reed Alley renovation, and Butts-Mehre football facility expansion have occurred). Under McGarity's watch, the only renovations or additions that have occurred are the practice field renovations and the impending Foley Field facelift. The outer Stegman facelift, Butts-Mehre expansion, and Reed Alley renovation at Sanford were all already on the books under Evans. For whatever reason, UGA's spending has come to a virtual standstill compared to other programs in the conference. What is being spent is on improving cell service and the speaker system in Sanford as opposed to any sort of cosmetic work.

It really depends on how you define best.
In terms of overall everything (capacity, quality, atmosphere) - Bryant Denny
In terms of purely atmosphere - Tiger Stadium

Well if you use that kind of criteria, the newly-expanded Tiger Stadium wins over BDS by a landslide.
With more premium seating overall and a similar capacity, Tiger Stadium will make more money for LSU per game than BDS does for Alabama. Or compared to any other SEC stadium, for that matter.
Not to mention the fact that LSU also has the most chair back seats of any SEC stadium...and is planning to add even more.

It is going to be a while then. Foley is adamantly against raising our debt levels, even though they are among the lowest in the conference. Its frustrating as a fan, but far be it from me to question how he runs the program.

BDS and Tiger Stadium are the top two stadiums if you take everything into account. Which is better between the two really depends on what you value more, IMO.
I have to say though, that while the endzones at BDS look great, the sides of the stadium are pretty meh.
