The baseball stadiums in the SEC are a notch above any other conference. Nice looking renovations for Baum!

Baum Stadium is one of the nicest if not the nicest stadiums in the country. This will make it even better. Makes Alex Box look even worse than it is.

Yup, Arky doing work on their stadium while LSU just figures out new ways to add more ads to The Box.

Any idea if it will be ready for next season? Can't wait to see the final product.

That's the beginning of an underground tunnel from the new locker room to the dugout. The home dugout will be moved from the third base line to the first base line.

Tried to troll but ends up pointing out that we’re building a tunnel from the outfield training facility to our dugout. That’s when you know you have too much money.

I'm glad we went away from the Jeff Long model that was simply to add suites and club seating.

We need additional suites - there is a mile long list - but I'd rather the expansion focus on student athlete amenities. Our current weight room is pretty much a garage that we share with the track program. Our pitching lab is also outdated. We were also in dire need of a clubhouse as the old one was nice but cramped.

Jeff Long's model also destroyed the Hog Pen by putting a club area in the NE corner near where the foul pole patio current sits. I could see the Hog Pen being seriously compromised by COVID for at least one season - kind of hard to pack people in when there are social distancing rules. Wouldn't be surprised if we move to only season ticket holders model for all sports.... which eventually might get administration to build more reserved seating out there ---- which would cause a riot.

Back to our current expansion. The new area will have suites and club seating but won't interfere or displace any fans. There will be a Home Run Porch outdoor bar and loge box seating. However, like I said earlier, the most important part is the student athlete amenities.

I'm also glad we are expanding our outdoor track facility.

45+ national championships and we currently have athletes sharing lockers.

I want to add that I looked up the info and Coach Harter (women's track) said that we currently have 45 lockers for 70 of our women's athletes. That is a program that just completed the 3-peat national championship in Indoor/Outdoor/Cross Country.

The baseball addition is also including dedicated coaches’ offices which is something that doesn't currently exist. I know - that's crazy - but Coach DVH and the rest of our staff are located in a couple of our suites. Freeing up those suites will probably help pay for the costs of their offices.

We are also completing renovations to the Tyson Center Indoor Track. It's a complete overhaul as the east wall of the facility is going to be knocked down and rebuilt to expand the size of the building. Seats, which currently sit in a square configuration around the oval track are going to be reinstalled to wrap around the track, and a new concourse is being built toward the top of the facility so spectators can walk down to their seats instead of up bleachers.

There is going to be suites built (yes we need suites for track) and lockers built under the seating area. This is important as we are scheduled to host the NCAA Indoor Championships in March of 2021.

We were scheduled to start renovations on Bud Walton sometime in the next 2-3 years but I bet that gets pushed way down the line now. There was also some rumors that we were planning to demolish Barnhill and replace it with a smaller women's sports facility (Gymnastics and Volleyball). The upkeep for Barnhill is supposedly not worth keeping it around but I can't see the funds for building a new facility for non revenue sports in a time like now.

Our soccer and softball locker rooms are going to renovated sometime soon as well.

So yeah..... let's get this football season going. We've got some more projects to start.

Love it! The SEC arms race is real. It's only a matter of time before LSU does some renovations. I would not be surprised if State adds another Left Field Loft in the next 5 years.

I have seen much worse stadiums than Alex Box but given how much LSU loves baseball I'm surprised it isn't fancier. You would have to think the backing is there to really kick it up a couple of notches.
