As a guy who loves bball as much as football, I was looking forward to this finally being the rebound year for both Bama and Auburn.

UAB retains their rightful place at the top of the totem pole. By default probably, but still.

I think you're overreacting. Bama is going to be pretty good. If we get most of the four fricking injured/ineligible players back soon, it could be a really good year.

Idk why Bama fans keep trying to drag down Auburn with them. We still have a solid team even without the two who are sitting, and a lot of people feel confident that Wiley at least can be reinstated by SEC play.

Really? Because you lost to a D2 school without them.

You lost to a Canadian D2 team. And its a fricking exhibition. Kansas lost to a fricking semi-pro European team this summer, I think they'll be okay.

We lost to a Canadian team that routinely beats American Power 5 teams. It was also in August. Losing in the summer isn't the same as losing right before the season.

Losing exhibitions also doesn't really matter that much, but when you are saying "we are fine even without the guys" and the only data from your team without those guys is a loss to a Division 2 team..............that's dumb.

"No no no we'll be fine we're really good without our best player" for a team that was bad last year and is 0-1 with a loss to a D2 team this year. Yea, sure, sounds great.

I think both teams are cursed at this point. I would like to see basketball become a real thing here. HS talent is not terrible here and usually have several 4 stars in a class with maybe a 5 star.. With sold out gyms in North AL. Wish it would translate to college level.

So is Bama's lineup to start the year likely:

C Giddens
PF Hall
SF Davis
SG Ingram
PG Johnson Jr.

With the 4 remaining freshman G Petty, G Jones, F Reese and F Smith as the only rotational players right now?

No, more likely:

PG AJ Jr
G Ingram
G/F Jones
G/F Petty
F/C Giddens

Or the big lineup

PG Ingram
G/F Jones
G/F Petty
F/C Giddens
F/C Hall

I dont know why you wouldnt want Hall starting. That guy is (underrated) good. Just needs more minutes and staying out of foul trouble.

All I know is that Ole Miss looks like the best team they've ever had.

If we only want 1 true forward in the game, Giddens is better than Hall. If we want a big line up with 2 forwards, Hall will be out there.

Giddens has supplanted him as our best big man. I like Hall, and he will get a lot of minutes either way, but Giddens is more skilled.

FBI has the best team unless you go with UAH at a lower level

I have to agree that it is currently a dumpster fire. BUT Bama will probable get Sexton eligible before SEC play. Key should also be back by January.

For Auburn it is a little more difficult to determine. I think (HOPE) the NCAA will allow Wiley back when he pays back the money and sits for 10 games. Purifoy is in a tougher spot because he does not have the funds to pay it back. You have to be careful where the money comes from.
