to lose again in a SR or better yet at home in a Regional. Why? Just because the baseball gods are cruel in that way.

They wear themselves out hitting homeruns and dancing during the regular season.

There's no gas left in the tank once the postseason hits.

That low key is pretty awesome! Cant wait to watch them fly out of TD Ameritrade like we do every year from Big Orange!

That's during the regular season.

During the postseason, you get shut down by struggling bullpen pitchers.

Yes, you scored 4 total runs across 2 games in Omaha.

And lost both.

The All-Time UT record for Home runs is 158 that was set by that 2022 team. That record was set in 66 games. The 2024 Vols are looking to break that record in less games. If they keep the pace, they will break the record 11 games sooner.

The 2024 Vols have hit 121 HR in just 42 games. The Vols have 14 regular season games left, plus the SEC tournament. The Vols are on pace for 161 in the regular season.

If they make a deep run into Omaha, and play the SEC tournament to the finals. Could they possibly reach the 188 NCAA record set by LSU? In order for them to set the record they would need to play 23 more games at this current pace. 14 regular season, play 3 in SEC tourny, 2-3 in regionals, and 2-3 in Supers and at least 2 in Omaha. You could see a path where this years Vols could break the all time NCAA record.

Not without pitching it’s not. Can we borrow Holman for the rest of the year?

How long did it tame Bianco to win a title at Ole Piss? Do you think it’s gonna take Vitello that long?

Who knows, but he does come from the DVH tree.

Actually he’s from the Jim Schlossnagle coaching tree. Vitello was at TCU under Schloss from 2011-2013.

He coached under Tim Jamieson first and was with him the longest.

The Vols are on pace for 161 in the regular season.

The 1997 LSU team hit 39 HRs from the SECT through Omaha, 14 games. Thats 2.78/game, which was an higher clip than they hit in the regular season.

Omaha isn’t the home run park it used to be at Rosenblatt. Hell, in 1998, LSU hit 8 home runs in 1 game in Rosenblatt. And the SECT was played in Columbus GA not at a big field like the Hoover Met. The bats now aren’t the same BBCORs that came out in 2011. They’re plenty hot and players know way more about the “science” of hitting home runs with all the tech available now.

What helps Tennessee is 3/4 of their remaining series are at home and possibly two more series in the postseason. It’s a hitters park so getting to the record is feasible. However, they’ll need to make a run in both the SECT and get to Omaha and win games there to have a chance. That 1997 LSU team played in the finals of both
