Also beat TCU after they beat vandy and ark, caught them at a good time.
Although they suck now in general I guess

I believe I did say that about beating TCU. Can not flaunt that win because they are 2-5 right now

Despite my best efforts, seems some of you DID see my post as an op-ed.

OU has 2 games vs Arizona St (7-0) in mid-week. If they win those, they will start getting a lot more love.

UTSA is no little sister. They're 7-0, #2 RPI, and #4 SOS.

I'm tyring to figure out why some of the polls gave them so much love this past week after beating one of the worst teams in D1 this weekend and New Mexico St
Seems like a lot of props for doing what they should have done I guess.
Early season polls are always nutty though.

Anyone else notice that all three of the other unbeaten SEC teams are ranked above OU, as are four (count 'em) once-beaten SEC teams? Not an op-ed. Just sayin'.
That’s just poll inertia. Keep winning and that’ll take care of itself.

OU at #13 is a joke. They are gonna crack some skulls in SEC play. They are a top 10 team.
Slow down my friend. We were 15-1 last year before conf play. Went 14-16 in conf. We have more bats this year and although pitching has been great we won’t know anything until conf play starts. I’m encouraged with Cam 2nd year and the other new pitchers. But its early. Our wins so far:
10-3 vs Tex Tech
10-1 vs Okie State
12-2 vs TCU (ranked)
10-6 vs New Mexico State
22-1 vs Coppin State
24-0 vs Coppin State
11-0 vs Coppin State
Way too early to know and to be honest rankings right now are distorted until conf play starts. Our away SEC series are brutal.
@ LSU
@ Texas
@ Vandy
@ Auburn
@ Arkansas
Thats 15 games away vs top talent.
And the SEC coaches had us ranked which again is a guess without knowledge.

Didn't UCLA lose badly to every SEC team they played last year? Wtf

They haven’t played hardly anyone with a pulse yet

They didn’t much last year either until Omaha and still opened with Murray St there. They had the benefit of moving to a conference that doesn't have good baseball teams. Not surprisingly the top 2 teams in the Big 10 were former Pac 10 teams (all 4 being in the top 5)
Really weird team. Returned a lot but weren’t that impressive prior. Pieced together games pitching and did just enough hitting. SS is a badass but no one else really blew me away playing them

I wouldn’t expect to see Mizzou on here if it was a top 250 list.
Fun fact, we avenged our heavyweight loss to Mount Saint Mary’s (of the MAAC) by beating them 34-3…before getting shoved in a locker by FAU.

quote:Yeah, well OU was 0-2 against them each of the last two years, and 6-18 over the last 15 years, so in my mind, beating them would be a good start.
Dallas Baptist doesn’t even look very good. They just got swept by UTSA

Haha fair point. They play today and will probably be trying hard for a win which could work out in y’all’s advantage.

Tennessee decided to start their A&M trajectory early it seems.
They are 5-2 so far. How does that compare to prior seasons through the first 7 games since Tony V took over?
2026 - 5-2
2025 - 7-0 (finished 46-19, Lost in Super Regionals)
2024 - 6-1 (finished 60-13, CWS Champions)
2023 - 5-2 (finished 44-22, Lost in CWS)
2022 - 7-0 (finished 57-9, Lost in Super Regionals)
2021 - 6-1 (finished 50-18, Lost in CWS)
2020 - 7-0 (finished 15-2, COVID Season)
2019 - 7-0 (finished 40-21, Lost in Regionals)
2018 - 4-3 (finished 29-27, No Post Season)
This is tied for the 2nd worst start since Tony V took the helm.
Who were the losses to in seasons where UT lost 2 or more of their first 7?
2026 - Kent State (x2)
2023 - Arizona, Grand Canyon
2018 - Maryland (x2), UNC Greensboro
Not a great start for Elander...but I guess it's about as good as Vitello's start in his first season back in '18.
