according to Tiger fans Alabama never plays anybody before they play LSU anyway. Why should this year be any different? Aside from Georgia there’s no real discernible difference in the two schedules. The game will play out however it does and neither teams schedule to this point will play a significant role in the outcome of this game.

They said the same thing about 2005 USC.
And then someone spoiled all that...

The legend of the 2001 Miami Hurricanes was built in the NFL well after the team played. Most of the reason that team seems so good in retrospect is that they had so many players "eventually" be first rounders. Fact is a lot of those guys who became NFL stars, in 2001, were first and second years guys that didn't see much or any playing time. Still an impressive roster and maybe the deepest with talent ever.
1995 Nebraska is still the best college team to take the field.
As for '18 Bama, guess we'll find out in December and January how they stack up.

Just a side note - did anyone actually watch football in 2001? That Miami team produced some absurdly good NFL players, but the team wasn't as great as people think. Go look at their schedule if you don't remember.

ESPN is so accurate when crowning a team before the season is even over! Aren't they?!!

November may have a say-so in that.

Why do LSU fans keep bringing up Oklahoma?
They gave up over 26 ppg in 2008.
Do y'all not think Alabama is bringing a goddamn defense to Tiger Stadium?
And what offense do y'all plan on lighting Alabama up with? Because Colt McCoy and Texas was the team that beat that Oklahoma team.

Amen and it's not even close. The 2001 Miami team gets credit for what those players did after college in the NFL. That's great and all but the 1995 Nebraska team would've beaten the dog shite outta the 2001 Miami team.
If I recall correctly the 01 Miami team struggled with VT and BC during the season.
The 95 Cornhuskers went balls deep on EERYONE! Including Florida in the NC game, 62-24.

This Bama team is nowhere near that talented across the board. Tua is the best I've seen though. They're very beatable without him
And every team in the country is beatable without their starting QB. Take every starting QB off their team. Alabama is the favorite to win the NC.
Are LSU fans retarded?

Who did that 2011 Bama team play that was any good? Maybe Arkansas & maybe LSU?

That’s because they invented supplements at the college and all the players were on them.

I'm pretty confident we're the same team either way haha.
I'm just saying Bama has had better teams. Tua is the story. Put him on any top 10 team and they'll go all the way.

I mean, you guys are, like, "the best team in the history of college football", so it's got to be proclaimed from the mountain tops, especially now that the season is in full swing, and not even over.
I'll start in a big thick Alabama accent, "ALABAMA CAN'T LOSE!!!"

They had some close calls that year. If I remember that BC game was really tight.
They beat unranked BC 18-7
Against #14 VT they won 26-24
They had a few other lackluster performances where they still ended up winning comfortably like against Pitt and Florida State. Being in the Big East their schedule was dog shite as well.

I love when the media hypes up a team that hasn't played a SINGLE a good team. Kinda like the days when Oklahoma was scoring 60 a game....until they played a team with a good defense. But let's crown Bama as the best ever since their best win is a 3 loss aTm
I just think it's dumb to do before the season is over. Remember back in 2005 when ESPN ran a special every week comparing that USC team to some great team of the past, basically already placing 2005 USC among the best teams ever.....then they went on to lose the national title game to Texas.

The defense leads the SEC in sacks and is 2nd in INTs.
So while the defense isn't smothering like usual, it's still doing work and fricking shite up out there. Plus I think it's quickly improving.
