Pendry will remain in the employment of UA in a different capacity, working with Director of Athletics Mal Moore in a developmental capacity, as an advisor in NFL matters, and in events and correspondence with former UA players. Both moves were reported earlier in the week, although neither Pendry nor Stoutland were available to comment at the time.

Why would Alabammer pay a coach not to coach???? Why keep him on??? Why not allow a NON-Coach to speak to the press?? What is Alabama hiding here?? Was he one of the recruiters??

I can see how this would be the immediate reaction of an Auburn fan, but the rest of the world is often on the up and up. They sometimes like and respect their employees and coworkers. Sometimes, when one of them gets old and is ready to step down, they let him stay around in some capacity, because of his love for his career, and earn a little spending money while doing so. This allows him to take the grandkids fishing, but still be involved in what he loves.
I'm glad I could shed some light on that for you. I know you have no experience in this area.

Pendry is an excellent offensive line coach, any way we can keep him around the program is fine with me.
Plus, after you devote your life to a game for probably 50+ years, it will be very hard to completely walk away from. This is more than likely Pendry's way of staying a part of the game.

Pendry knows where all the bodies are buried, i.e. who bought the Chargers. Smart move.

Interesting question. What are you insinuating about Pat Dye and Wayne Hall....oh...and Terry Bowden?

Au has the record on this. I think yall have/had 4 ex-head coaches on the payroll at the same time, plus numerous ex-assistant coaches.

I can not believe and aubie can ask this. With as many coaches that are still on the payroll and living in Auburn. Dye is till on the payroll, Tubby got another job pretty quick, but Tater Tott just came off the payroll 2 years ago when he took the job at UNA.
Don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house. Besides the guy is 70, he's to old to travel and have fun but to young to just sit down.

Just showing the BAMMER hypocrisy... If it happens at BAMA, he is a good man... If it happens at Auburn, well BAMMER has a different spin... BTW, Auburn does not and has never had 4 coaches they were paying... Bama also paid Shooooola not to coach, it is called a contract (tubs, oliver, etc.)

Have you ever heard of a stereotype? That would be you.
Stereotypical auburn fans do everything they can to shovel/find dirt on Alabama... even in the wake of their National Title they never give up. Even when their claims are outrageously ludicrous.
Auburn fans like you reveal all Auburn fans desperation and give the few classy ones a horrible name. And you guys also turn once good people into hatred resistors.

And the BAMMER fans on this site? How do they make the Bammer fans look... You guys can throw a lot and I mean a lot of dirt, but you can not take it... that is obvious...
