re: Bama is in and we all knew it when they put them at 13. This was setup from the beginning.

They’re likely to embarrass themselves. If you can’t get a td against Oklahoma they don’t need to be in the cfp. They’re the Indiana of the SEC

Yes, the Indiana that beats Georgia... and "the more deserving" South Carolina.

I'd bookmark this post to resurrect when Arkansas is faced with a similar predicament just to highlight your unabashed hypocrisy but unfortunately, Arkansas will never make the top 25 again, let alone receive a playoff berth.

The problem with South Carolina fans is that you are for some reason blaming Alabama as being the reason you are out

Again, it's nothing to do against Alabama. It's just because these are *likely* the last two teams vying for one spot.

I'm much more angry/upset about an Indiana team that is weaker than pondwater, or a Penn State team that pisses down their leg everytime they play an opponent with a pulse.

If it's SC v Bama for the last slot, and Bama takes it, I absolutely understand why.

My challenge to you, as a Bama fan, is if it goes the other direction, in favor of SC instead of Bama, will you accept that, as well?

Again, no problem with Bama or even Alabama fans. Paul Finebaum can get fricked, though.

Why should they be mad at Indiana? No shot they would leave out an 11-1 Big Ten team. That’s just fantasy talk.

Them being Indiana and not a football brand is the only reason it’s being slightly discussed as is. If it was 11-1 Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, USC, Nebraska etc they are much higher in the rankings.

Ur a lower ranked conference champ may be in correct?

I thought 11/12 weren’t “guaranteed” a spot due to a conf champ perhaps being ranked lower.

That’s an oddly specific requirement to get into the playoffs. I wasn’t aware of it, thank you for letting us know.

I think we're getting in if Clemson beats SMU. That H2H victory over an ACC champ on the road will trump the 3 point loss at Tuscaloosa. ACC has no business getting more than 1 team in

I’m used to the hurt as a USC fan. I’m not even mad if we get in or not. I’m just glad the team is being talked about in a positive light by non-fans.

Tell me what separates Indiana from Penn State or Ohio State

One thing that separates these teams is the number of games they played against the top 35 teams in performance rankings (FEI, SP+)

Penn St played 4 games
Ohio St 5 games

Indiana only played 2.

Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, for comparison, each played 7.

That's why the NCAA basketball tourney committee started to lean heavily on these type rankings in comparing teams that have vastly uneven schedules, like what superconferences are creating in football.

It gets away from merely using the AP/Coaches polls to determine "quality opponents".

What is the justification for jumping Alabama when you didn’t even play?

I grew up in South Carolina and went to Alabama after we moved to Mississippi. Have fond memories of the Gamecocks and always pull for you guys… I also like your QB, guy was a magician yesterday. Great player. Congrats.
