Bama is arguably better with Mac Jones than with Tua

Mac Jones, declared "the purest passer I have ever been around," by legendary coach Joe Dickinson, may actually be a better fit in Saban's offense than Tua.

The Bama QB position has always utilized more of a "game manager" QB to be successful. Saban is able to scheme a plan for a QB who fits into a system. Tua, while an elite QB with transcendent talent, thrives in chaos. With a methodical offense, Saban has dominated in years past using his stable of 5-star athletes on both sides of the ball.

But what if Mac Jones is just as good of a QB physically, and also fits into Saban's scheme? Jones 69% completion this year is very close to Tua's 71%. They both run a 4.9 40 and a 4.3 shuttle. They have equivalent arm strength. Jones is taller.

I think the past 2 seasons turn out a little differently with Jones as the starter.

EDIT: After this week, Jones and Tua have the exact same TD/INT ratio on the season...food for thought.

Why should we give a shite? They aren't on our upcoming schedule.

And if Saban thought this (you know the dude who watches them every day in practice) why did he play a hobbled Tua against LSU over Jones?

LOL. Tua has shown that he thrives regardless.

Agreed. AJ McCarron is what Saban wants and needs. Mac Jones fits that mold.

1. Only a fool would make that argument

2. Who gives a shite. We beat them and their season is effectively over unless multiple teams implode.

This is honestly the not of the biggest loads of shite I’ve ever seen.

Tua thrives in a clean pocket and can play in chaos.

He led Bama to a scorching 3 points in the second half last week.

That's going to be a no for me, dawg.

They scored 3 points against state without Tua though

You really think Tua only scores 3 more with an entire half left??

Of course. That’s why he was second string behind Tua and bama would rather have Tua play on one foot than put him in against LSU. SMH
