They are not very good when healthy. Lose two LBs should not have resulted in the fall of that D. They have 5 stars all over the field, but they look like 2 stars.

Pretty sure we currently have 1 5-star playing on defense and he's been great all season at CB
I'm not sold on our coaching but we are starting 4 true freshman in the Front 7, including all 3 spots right up the middle. I can't remember a really good defense in the last 20 years of watching football that had that sort of youth up front. It's just not something you can be consistent with at all.

It’s doesn’t matter what they were rated if the entire middle of the defense are true freshmen.

I’m pretty sure we’ve been concerned about it since August when playing good opponents. But hoped the offense could out score people and get enough stops on defense.

You are 100% wrong. Our defense has exactly 1 five star recruit starting. All 3 of our defensive linemen are freshmen and so are both linebackers. Our downfall aside from losing all those guys was RECRUITING FAILURES, not enough 5 star type players so we have zero depth to replace those guys therefore we had to turn to freshmen.
